I'm so confused! I really don't know how I'm supposed to feel about this book...Check out the book description:Oh no! Surfer - make that ex-surfer - Carly Winters can't believe she accidentally faxed an erotic letter to... a secure military line? Now navy SEAL Jonathan "Hunt" Huntington is at her door, fax in hand, asking her how the fantasy ends.Talk about fate... Because Carly's parents think Hunt is her new boyfriend, and Carly does need a wedding date ASAP. Hunt's ready to play - only on one condition: Carly's got to teach him to hang ten. Problem is it's been a while since Carly's career-ending accident and she's terrified of anything aqua. But with Hunt, letting go just may make her fantasy a reality!Based on that, I was ready to enjoy a somewhat silly (in a good way) story with some naughty banter between the H/h, steamy love scenes and a touch of angst (provided by the heroine's traumatic accident). The first 1/4 of the book didn't prove me wrong, but something didn't feel quite right to me. I couldn't connect with Hunt and Carly, even though there was nothing I disliked about them. I just couldn't put my finger on what was "wrong" and why the story wasn't working for me, and that drove me insane was annoying. As I kept reading, I eventually realized what the "problem" was: there were too many things crammed into the story, making it impossible to develop any of them properly. To sum it up, here's what this book is about: (a) Hunt and Carly's relationship, of course; (b) Carly's trauma and strugle to go back to surfing; (c) Carly's meddling family; (d) Hunt's need for control and fear of commitment; (e) Hunt's career as a Navy SEAL; (f) Hunt's relationship with his younger brother Ty; (g) Ty's (view spoiler)[returning cancer and (hide spoiler)] indecision about the future; (h) Carly's friend Samantha's "epiphany"; (i) Ty and Samantha's relationship; (j) Hunt's SEAL teammate Cash, who's the hero in the next book in the series... Are you lost yet? :(Individually or, at most, in pairs, all those storylines were enough to make a compelling story, especially when we take in consideration the restricted length of a Harlequin Blaze novel, but as it was, I found myself disconnected from the characters and their stories. With so much going on, I wasn't surprised by the rushed ending, but I was disappointed with the lack of closure. Don't get me wrong, Carly and Hunt got their HEA - after all, this is a romance book - and almost all the storylines (under)developed in the book were settled, but the one loose end that was left bothered me. (view spoiler)[By the end of the book, Ty's future is uncertain. I was okay with that when I thought his story was "to be continued" in the next book(s) in the series, but then I found out he isn't the hero in any of those books. WTF?!? Will I ever know what happens to him? What about his relationship with Samantha? (hide spoiler)] Do I still want to read the next book(s) to see if that loose end is eventually tied up? Yes, because I found that particular storyline engaging and I really want it to get a nice pink bow in the end. Having said that, I'll be really mad if I go through those books and don't see any resolution to it.

3.5* Once you get past the contrived meeting in the beginning of the book, the story is enjoyable and perhaps a little deeper than expected. As the story unfolds we learn Carly had a career ending surfing accident, her family is wealthy and pushy, and her best friend "Sam" is having dating problems. We also meet Hunt, a SEAL with "save the world" (not to mention control) issues, and his brother, Ty, who has his own problems. Some of the situations are light, and even humorous, while others are more emotional and serious. While t author doesn't always handle the two extremes well, she generally strikes a decent balance.Overall I enjoyed the book and may look into the next in the series.

I thought Blaze books were hotter than mainstream romances but so far, only one Blaze title was (Susan Kearney's Beyond The Edge).Coming Undone was a fast, enjoyable read but too short for much plot or character development. His friend, Cash, sounds interesting.

Enjoyable Harlequin...what does it say, though, that I was more interested in the secondary romance than the main one? I'd really have loved it if this were Ty and Samantha's story.

The story of Carly and Hunt. I liked this. I love surfer stories and I loved the idea of the fax. I liked Carly. She was a strong character. I found her 'issues' and how they were resolved a bit... easy. It made it a bit unbelievable. The story had a lot going on with it. Some parts could have been left out. Her posh family, her other love interest, these could have been dropped. There was enough going on. It would have allowed more time for the other storylines. I liked the side characters but I worried about Sam and Ty. I would have liked an epilogue. Overall though I was gripped! That cover is definitely one I would turn face down at the check out if you know what i mean.

Carolyn “Carly” Winters is a retired professional surfer. She has a terrible accident in her last competition and since then she has panic attacks whenever she gets near the ocean. So everyone thought it was strange when she bought the beach house, but it was all part of her plan to get back in the saddle. Now she is helping her best friend spice up her sex life, so she writes an erotic fantasy and faxed it to her friend. But what Carly doesn’t know, she accidentally faxed it to the Mayport Military Base, right in the hands of Jonathan Huntington.Lieutenant Jonathan “Hunt” Huntington cannot believe his eyes when he receives an erotica fantasy by fax and is determined to find this mysterious woman and maybe fulfill this fantasy of hers. When Hunt arrives at Carly’s home to confront her, he couldn’t imagine that his life would change tremendously. Carly needs help and need a temporally boyfriend for her sister’s wedding, so Hunt offers his help, exchange for some surfing lessons. Will Hunt be able to help her overcome her fears of the ocean or will he break her heart instead?Coming Undone by Stephanie Tyler is fabulous Navy Seal novel and easy to read. The novel is full of fears, emotions and of course sexual attraction. The chemistry between Carly and Hunt is huge and right there from the beginning. Hunt is the kind of guy who feels the need to help everyone around him and ask nothing in return. So when he meets Carly, a retired surfer who is afraid to get back in the water after her accident, he is determined to help her back in the water. Carly falls hard for Hunt, the moment he shows up on her doorstep and basically demands a fulfillment of the fantasy, she cannot get him out of her mind. And when her parents think he is her boyfriend, they invite him to her sister’s wedding. When she discover Hunt fears to open his heart for everyone close around him, like his brother and her, she’ll do anything in her power to make him see that there isn’t anything to be afraid of.Hunt’s brother Ty and Carly’s best friend Samantha are fabulous secondary characters. From the moment those two meet each other; you can sense that there is a second storyline.I really enjoyed this wonderful romantic story and I cannot wait to read what Stephanie Tyler has in store for Cash in the next novel.

Hunt is a Navy SEAL with a penchant for fixing everyone else's problems, but depending on no one. Carly was a professional surfer before an accident ended her career and made her afraid of the ocean. Her parents are pressuring her to return to their high society life, with prospective groom picked out to accompany her at her sister's wedding. When Carly accidentally faxes an erotic letter to Hunt's office, he follows up in person and is anxious to explore their attraction. He agrees to be her date for the wedding if she'll teach him how to surf. Is she just another project for him?A very character-driven story, which I like. Both Hunt and Carly have some notable baggage, but not so much that it overwhelms the reader. There's also a nice side story with Hunt's brother Ty and Carly's best friend Sam. We don't go quite as deep with those two, and they are really more of a plot device for the main couple, but I still liked them both. It's a Blaze imprint, so there are some steamy scenes, but it doesn't feel like the driving force of the story.I had some "WTH?" moments, especially in the bar scene, but mostly enjoyed this story. Not sure whether I would re-read it, but I wouldn't mind reading Cash's story next (Risking It All (SEAL team, #2)).

Carly Winters is trying to help her friend spice up her sex life and faxes her a fantasy to help her out. Too bad she sends it to the wrong fax number and a Navy SEAL turns up at her door asking questions about how she got the number and what was she doing faxing her fantasy to the Navy. Lt. Jonathan "Hunt" Huntington could have let Carly off easy, but once he sees her, he wants to know more of her fantasy and be the one to fulfill it.This is the first in a series about Navy SEALs by Tyler. I actually read them in backwards order, but didn't feel I missed out on anything. All three work fine as stand-alones, but they also fit well together.I really liked this one. I'm not sure it is my favorite, but I really liked both Carly and Hunt. I would have liked just a little more closure to some of the story (like Hunt's brother Ty), but all in all, it worked out well. It is a nice and spicy book that is a quick, enjoyable read.

Heroine is an ex-professional surfer who's retired because of a bad accident. Hero is a SEAL home on leave. She's trying to help her friend spice up her love life, & writes out a sexy fantasy for her friend to use with her boyfriend--but she faxes it to the wrong number, an official Navy number. Hero's the guy who comes to check out this suspicious fax sending person. He arrives just as the heroine has made up a boyfriend because her parents are pressuring her accept a date to her sister's wedding with a rich society guy they approve of. Nothing really wrong with the guy--just no sparks. But there are sparks aplenty when Navy guy shows up. Parents immediately assume he's the boyfriend she made up. He's interested in the fantasizing woman so he goes along--and we're off! If you can get past the silly fax thing, this is a good story, sexy, with heart. What more do you need?

Bought this book for my Kindle for a long haul flight. It was an OK, easy read that passed the time. No real shocks in the plot but the characters were engagingHunt is a navy SEAL who meets up with Carly when she sends an erotic fax to a secure line instead of sending it to her friend. Carly is an ex-surfer who, after a life threatening accident, is scared of the water. He ends up pretending to be her boyfriend to her family for some functions because he is attracted to her and she is in a bind. Of course it ends up being more than a fling. Usual conflicts appear, her family doesnt approve and he doesnt want to get involved because of his job and some emotional baggage. Its a harlequin so there is obviously an HEA! I liked the side story with his brother and best-friend. Would have possibly made a more engaging main story and felt a little rushed as a side story.

The story had a lot going on. There were 3 main plots going on. 1)The chemistry between Carly Winters and Jonathon "Hunt" Huntington, 2)the relationship between Carly's friend Sam and Hunt's brother Ty, 3)and Hunt's SEAL career. After Carly's surfing accident that cost her her career she hasn't been able to go near the water, add to that the pressure from her family to have a date for her sister's wedding and Carly's life is out of control. But when she accidently send an erotic letter to a militry line, Hunt is standing at her door and their adventure takes off. This book was different from others like it because the conflict didn't come to an end till almost the very end. It really gave you the feeling that everything wouldn't turn out ok.

I am feeling quite neutral towards this book. It's average, nothing really amazing. But it is a nice silly (in a good way) read if you are up for it. I'll give it 3.5 stars. I do enjoy their naughty, playful banter throughout the book. The start of the book was pretty hilarious. It has some angst due to the trauma Carly has been through. I do think the book wasn't that nicely paced though, rushed, too many things packed into the story hence taking away from the development of the characters and plot. It was a little hard to connect to the two characters. I do loathe Carly's family though, I feel like hitting all of them over the head with a frying pan!

like almost most romance books, the ending was abrupt. the MC just realized his love and everything's okay. I got bored reading this. the beginning was okay, funny even (when the MCs' first met), but after that well, let's just say, i've been a master of scanning the book.i also didn't like it when the author added ty and sam's story. i don't care about them. i was reading this for the MCs'. so again, skip and scan.

3 and a half star. The story was original, fun and sexy but I feel terribly disappointed by the ending. For Hunt and Carly, it's left to your appreciation to imagine the rest of their HEA which is fine but what about Sam and Ty ????Highly frustrating !

For me this was an okay story. Hunter and Carly story was pretty good. But call me a prude, I don't think someone should have sex the first time they meet. I guess I should have seen this coming. I doubt I'll read any of the others about the SEALS.

Hot & yummy...what girl doesn't dream of the romance of a SEAL - a modern day (good guy) Viking, Highlander, or Wild West lawman. Bonus of a friend's relationship being told and some family drama/connection.

It was not bad but I have some problems with girls having sex the first time they meet someone. Probably I'm a prude. But the story was good and I enjoyed the secondary plot, too. An easy reading :)

I had a hard time finishing this book. Ty's ordeal brought my own pain to the surface. That being said - I liked this book, a lot. Hunt and Carly were great together, and I enjoyed watching them grow as a couple. And what's not to love about hot sex with a SEAL?

Hot, sizzling story, yet gives you a glimpse of what the life of a Navy SEAL would be like. What I've learned from this book.... just because you grow up all alone, doesn't mean you have to live your life all alone. I put this one in my favorites....

Fun story with interesting characters. However there was a bit too much going on to give it a 5 star rating. The sex scenes are not very explicit, but hot nonetheless.
