    TITLE: Catching FirefliesSERIES: (Chasing Butterflies #2)AUTHOR: Terri E. LaineGENRE: CONTEMPORARY ROMANCECHAPTERS: Fourty - One | Epilogue.RELEASE DATE: 27th October, 2016 CATCHING FIREFLIES:A touching, heartbreaking raw story about second chance love. As soon as I started Chance and Brie's story I fell in love with these two. As soon as Chance saw Brie he wanted to claim her as his they both just really craved, wanted, needed that one, and when that one came along neither of them really knew what to do with it. Watch it all fall apart, only to be slowly put back together again better than the old version of themselves. Then the story jumps to "two years later"Both have been hurt beyond measure.Chance isn't fully what I expected, a big shot on campus, the gorgeous hot shot football player with females dying for his attention, screams player right?? But he's nothing like that, he's had some growing up to do what with an alcoholic father and a mother who walked out on them when he was younger, a past girl friend who betrayed him and threw his heart away in the process. I want your light to shine again, I want a second chance. But I'm not dumb enough to believe I've earned it yet. I found his character to be sweet, loyal, and knew what he wanted and chased it with both hands. He wears his heart on his sleeve. Brie was a tough cookie to crack, full of insecurities, smart and scared to share a little piece of herself, raised in a family of high achievers, crack that shell of hers and you'll find a sweet, feisty female. I didn't want to fall for him again. It had been a long time until I climbed out of the hole his departure from my life had created. Put these two characters together and it just worked, they sizzled, the chemistry, the feels, the heartbreak but in the end will love conquer all?? If you haven't read Chasing Butterflies I highly recommend it, but if you haven't this can be read as a complete standalone.

    4 Super Sweet StarsI really enjoyed this sweet, second chance romance!! I'm not one to read a lot of new adult books however, the characters in this one won me over! The story flowed nicely with little angst! We have Chance who is a small town boy who has grown up in a less than privileged lifestyle, who wins your heart over with all his charm! One thing I found that was very refreshing was that Brie wasn't physically "perfect"! She was strong and smart but she also had her moments of insecurities, that Chance helped her through! If your looking for a sweet story to cozy up on your couch with or read on the beach...this one's for you! ❤️“And what if I plan on waiting to have sex until I get married?” “Then I’ll be waiting until you marry me.”“That’s the thing. When that light goes, you think you’ve lost. But they give you a second chance. They light up again, letting you find them. Thus giving you an opportunity to catch them again.”“You don’t have to be strong for me. Let me be strong for you.”{I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book}

    ~~4.75 CATCHING FIREFLIES STARS~~You meet Chance in Chasing Butterflies. He was Kelley's best friend and he proved himself worthy of his own book. Chance got his heart broken and when college presented girls that threw themselves at him with little to no effort he thought having a girlfriend wasn't what he wanted. Brie has a lot of insecurities. She thinks she's not "model" beautiful. She has curves and she's not confident of herself. Her parent's expectation of her were pretty high. She's a virgin and doesn't want to give it up to any guy. Trust was an issue between Chance and Brie. Brie gave Chance a chance (LOL) but he ran and as a result, bruised Brie's feelings. Chance was such a great guy. He loved his father even though he was more like the parent in the relationship he tried to make his father proud. Weak never crossed my mind when I thought of Chance. He was loyal and a great friend and a romantic. He made the best with the cards that he was dealt and that made him a man worthy of anything in my books.

    3.5 Super Sweet Stars!!!This was overall a super sweet read, I keep going back and forth on my rating for this book because honestly I’m not sure how I feel about it. Catching Fireflies is Book #2 in the Catching Butterflies series. I read Chasing Butterflies a few months ago and absolutely loved it. It was a little darker NA than I’m used to reading, which I loved. I felt like it was deeper and gave me a lot of feels. If you haven’t read it, I absolutely recommend it. So, if you’ve read Chasing Butterflies, you’ve been introduced to the main characters in Catching Fireflies, Brie, who is Lenora’s best friend and Chance, who is Kelley’s best friend. But if you haven’t read Chasing Butterflies, this could be read as a stand-alone, although I still think you should read Book 1. Anyway, beck to Chance and Brie. Chance is a college football player that has had a rough time growing up, alcoholic dad, absent mom, but he hasn’t let that deter you from having goals and ambition in life. While in college, he meets Brie. She comes from a wealthy family but seems to have serious self-esteem issues. Brie and Chances are instantly attracted to each other but Chance breaks her heart. The story then picks up 2 years later and Brie and Chance are forced to reconnect and deal with their feelings. Chance does a lot of the chasing and boy does he redeems himself! The story had a lot of parallels with Chasing Butterflies. Some of the events happen at the same time as CB, and Kelley and Chance are pretty similar characters. I will say that Terri writes amazingly swoony heroes. Just like I loved Kelley in CB, I loved Chance here. He definitely saved the book for him, such an amazing hero. Loved him. Unfortunately, I didn’t love Brie as much. She’s the man reason for my rating. She was so frustrating most of the time, although I can definitely identify with her self-esteem issues, I couldn’t comprehend some of her decisions and the way she acted towards Chance. Regardless, there are some awesome interactions between them, and some sweet and very hot scenes. I do love that these books are a little on the heavy/darker side for NA books. Oh, and I have to say, I’m super intrigued by Sawyer and Ashton and whatever is going on there. I’m shipping them hard so I hope the next book in this series is MM, there I said it! Even though I definitely enjoyed this one I felt like something was kinda missing. But then again, it could be just me and not the book. I definitely recommend this one, and Chasing Butterflies if you’re looking for some heavier NA books  **An ARC was generously provided in exchange for an honest review**JOIN THE SISTERHOOD! This series is sooooo good!! Chance and Brie are a unique couple. They find each other but let each other go. A bad situation opens their eyes they can't stop falling for each other even when they both try. The title of the story fits perfect in this heart wrenching Love story.

    This book was unlike anything I've ever read before but have. I know it makes no sense. Just bear with me. It was a bit like deja vu but not. Glad I could make it clearer for you. LMAO. It's just that it had familiar themes but the author made them her own. Get it? I hope so lol. It dealt with love, broken hearts, betrayal, addiction, abandonment, death, family, friends, and even the college experience.Chance had his heart broken senior year of high school by his long-term steady girlfriend. He then swore off relationships in order to protect his little heart. That was until Brie blindsided him, but his fear of hurt was far too great and he sabotaged what could have been. Fast forward two years later and Chance is begging for Brie to take another "chance" on him.Now for the part I always hate. Detailing what I didn't like about the book. Gah! Okay, so my biggest issue was time. Time would elapse with no explanation. There'd be a brief summary of the major events that happened during this unseen period of time, but I was still lost. That "brief" explanation wasn't enough for me. Add to that the existing stories between the side characters and I feel that I needed to read the first book first. So take my foolish advice, do not read this as a standalone unless you can deal with this. However, I really do believe that this was the case of just me. So take my advice with a grain of salt.Overall, these young'uns gave me a great story and I wonder what will be next for this series.An ARC was generously provided in exchange for an honest review

    I am a sucker for second chance love stories and this Chance stole my heart from the first chapter. To steal a line- he had me at hello- and kept me the entire book. And this story had it all-- it was emotionally driven with the perfect amount of angst and softness. I adored both characters and loved each of their story arcs. If you're a fan of second chance love stories with a little heat and a lot of swoon-worthy moments, then this book is for you. Btw, I loved Chasing Butterflies, but this one, hands down, is my favorite of the two.

    IT'S LIVE: “Fireflies” Stars.Catching Fireflies is the second book in the Chasing Butterflies series. It can be read as a STANDALONE.With a battered heart, Chance Abbot leave his dad and his past to start a new chapter in life at Layton University. After a bad breakup, he decides to stay away from any kind of relationship, but then he meets Brie and his resolution starts to falter.Brie Holloway is smart, beautiful and innocent. Girlfriend material. She falls for Chance right away and I can’t blame her, he always knew the right things to say… a natural born charmer. They share a brief kind of relationship, but chance’s insecurities and desire to spread his wings made him broke Brie’s heart. 2 years has passed and now he is done fooling himself. He wants her back. The problem is that she has started dating another guy. Will Chance prove that he is worthy of a second chance?This was my first Terri E. Laine’s book and I really enjoyed it. I adored Chance, he was perfect in every single way. I really wanted to be his firefly just for him to catch me. LOL! Brie on the other hand, annoyed the heck out of me. I didn't like how she handle some situations. I know she was young but I consider that some of her actions were a bit childish. The plot was a little overused but I think the author took it and made it hers with the help of her sweet & sexy writing style. But still, I finished the book with the sensation that something was missing. I enjoyed the story but there were some moments that felt a little flat and that made me rest some brownie points to the story.Overall, I did enjoy it and I would recommend it to the fans of second chance romances.Catching Fireflies is a sweet, enjoyable, sexy story that I refused to put down I needed to know what will happen... Be ready because Chance Abbot will melt your heart with her sweet words. So if you enjoy romance, swexy couples, friendship and family, then you need to be reading this book.

    Chance's woman goes to extreme measures to surprising him, it's quite obviously Chance appreciates Brie's efforts, "I had my *** in the air and head in the oven when Chance walked in. “Damn, I’m really hungry now,” he said." I really loved this book, Chance was such an awesome guy.

    * A review copy was provided by the author for the Blog Tour *~ 4.5 Firefly Stars ~ Well Terri E Laine did it again!!! I loved this book almost as much as the first book. I devoured this book and had a really hard time putting it down. Terri has a forever fan in this reader :)Catching Fireflies is the next standalone novel in her interconnected standalone books in the Chasing Butterflies Series. This book was just as emotional as the first book. I was a little nervous going into this book because after reading the blurb I was afraid this was going to be a love triangle, and I really don’t like those. I will warn you…..yes she does touch on a love triangle, but not in the normal sense. I really can’t say too much because that would be a spoiler to that storyline, but just know if you aren’t a fan of triangles, don’t let that stop you from reading this fabulous book.Terri does again tackle some tough subjects in this book, such as alcoholism and abandonment. But just like in the first book, I thought Terri handle these topics with tact and grace. I thought the writing of this book was fantastic. Terri knows just how to give us enough information in her stories without making us feel we are missing something, but not an over abundance to slow the story down. Her flow and pacing are always spot on!!!Catching Fireflies is a second chance love story between Chance and Brie. In the start of the book these characters are just starting out as freshman in college. When they meet at a bonfire after a football game, they hit it off right away. Coming from different financial backgrounds, they found each other a refreshing change of pace. But Chance has some fears of commitment because of a betrayal in high school with his long time girlfriend. This in turns makes Chance make some dumb decisions and Chance and Brie lose contact. Fast Forward 2 years and they are reconnected, but Brie is seeing someone. Will Chance and Brie ever get on the same page?? Will Brie every be able to forgive Chance for walking away 2 years ago and give him another chance?? Follow them on their journey in Catching Fireflies to get those answers.We do see Kelley and Lenny (Lenora) from the first book in this story, but this isn’t a sequel to that book. This story actually runs parallel to that book. So I don’t feel Chasing Butterflies needs to be read first, but these are both such amazing books, you really will want to read both of them!!!So as you can tell I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of a New Adult College based story that is a second chance love story. I never feel like my reviews do the book justice. Honestly it is probably just better for you to read the book and experience the characters and emotions for yourself. This author is quickly becoming one of my favorites; it excites me because I don't know her books well enough to know what to expect and she delivers amazing work every time! I was blown away by Catching Butterflies and after reading Catching Fireflies I was left in awe because of the choices that were taken throughout the book. I love second chance books and this book was filled with second chances or missed chances and Chance the sexy football player who was burned at an early age. Chance was raised by his dad, who himself was burned by his wife and lives with it everyday. After reading that I was left devastated because I knew that Chance would believe all woman to be as is mother was, a runner. Luckily he met the love of his life in high school...or so he thought.Brie was a young girl who was raised by doctors and she knew she had to deliver the best in everything she did, even boys. Brie meets an incredible guy but the butterflies she felt quickly fell away when she told him something about herself that made him change his mind about their relationship. After one phone call could all that change the past and rekindle what felt right? Like I said, I am a major fan of second chances and this book had me swooning and holding my husband tight with the love flowing through me. I have read quite a lot of endings and I have to say that this was one of my favorites! I love how Ms. Laine intertwines fireflies with these characters and makes for one of the best endings I have read yet. I didn't just fall in love with Chance or Brie but I fell in love with each character from Lenny to Kelley and I even became a fan of Sawyer. I really really need Sawyer and Ashton's story though because I am dying to find out what is going on with those two! Great work Ms. Laine and congrats on this awesome new release!

    5all the feelsstars!!*ARC received in return for an honest reviewAaw, I adored this book!! I loved the first book in the series, Chasing Butterflies, but this was even better. I couldn't put it down!! Chance and Brie grabbed me from the very beginning and wouldn't leave go even after I read the last page. They have found their way into my heart.We first met Chance & Brie in Chasing Butterflies and, although Catching Fireflies can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend you read book one first for a better understanding of all the characters and their back stories as they do cross over.I loved Chance, he was so adorable, thoughtful and loving for those he cared about. I felt so sorry for him and what he had to cope with in his home life as he grew up, that I cried a few times for him. He made my heart hurt.Brie was quite a strong character, the perfect soulmate for Chance. I cheered out loud when she stepped up and came to Chance's defence during a very emotional time for him.Terri E. Laine has fast become one of my 'go-to' authors, she creates wonderful characters who fill us with so much emotion that we can't help either hating or falling in love with. I have laughed, cried and shouted my way through this book.If you're looking for a great second chance romance read then I can definitely recommend Catching Fireflies, it's the perfect book to curl up with on these dark cold nights.

    I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest reviewChance and Brie met their freshman year, dated and broke up. Forward two years and Brie is best friends with Lenora and Chance with Kelley from Chasing Butterflies. I liked Chance and Brie story because it was similar to Lenora and Kelley in which both couples weren't rushed to reconnect the second time.Chance had a rough childhood, an absentee mom and an alcoholic, depressed father. But yet he was an excellent student and athlete. Chance gave Brie all the time and space in the world until they reconnected again. I loved how Chance never let any girl overstep. Brie was the opposite of Chance, she was raised wealthy within a fa,ily of doctors and they expected the same from her. Brie at times upset me but her friendship with Lenora was beautiful. At times she was blind to things but Chance never rushed her when she was dating so,done else. Regardless, both remained friends and always looked out for the other. Chance never missed a beat with Brie which made me like him even more.This book is just as good as the first one and I enjoyed seeing the characters here also. This book was told at the same time when Kelley and Lenora got back together so some things intertwined and then lucked up from where Lenora and Kelley were together again. I hope to read about all 4 couples future later on and I can't wait for book 3 in these beautiful series of these college students that have dealt with so much.

    Such a beautiful story of a second chance love! Emotional and intense, Chance and Brie love story developed, as they did, into a mature relationship with no fears and regrets.Chance is a wonderful young man. He's adorable even! Sexy, a football player, surrounded by women, he has a good head on his shoulders, he knows what he wants and party like the others it isn't at all what he does. He set his eyes on Brie and will do everything he can to have her. But... there's always a but... after being betrayed in his past, he's afraid of commitment and being hurt again, so he thinks the better is to let her go.Years later, he can't stand not being with her, so he will try everything to get her back again.The friendship between the characters of this series is beautiful to be seen. They are a family of their own, laughing and crying together, fighting and loving each other.I'm loving more and more Terri's books. She can bring a little angst out and play around love. The feeling you get that you are living the characters life while reading, is what I mostly love about her writing.

    THIS IS A MUST READ !!!!I wish I could rate this book more than 5* it certainly deserves it, this by far has been one of my favourite books of this year and was so sad when I read the last page I just didn't want it to end. It was such a beautiful story and I want to catch fireflies <3<3I adored Lenny and Kelley's book and didn't think that Chance and Brie could top it, but I was wrong so very very wrong this one surpassed my expectations and took this series to a whole other level the story flowed seamlessly every page just pulled you in more and more and the feels I felt every single emotion boy did I.This was a story of second chances and how if you just forgive your life could be forever changed for the better.Chance and Brie were both awesome I loved them both so much and all the secondary characters were also amazing and played a huge part in the story which I loved !!!!Now the wait is on for Ashton and Sawyer to get there sstories told and I know there's are gonna be EPIC.I'm a huge fan of Terri's and whatever she writes ill always be sure to read !!!!

    ARC PROVIDED BY THE AUTHOR FOR AN HONEST REVIEW Catching fireflies is Brie and Chances story. They met and fell in love first year of college. However, he was scared by the possibilities of their love and left her. Now he realizes his mistake and is back to prove to her he is worthy of her heart and trust. It would have been too easy if that were the only challenge they had to face. Real life challenges, hurtles and curve balls catches up with them and we get a front row seat to how they get though it as individuals and perhaps as a couple.Catching fireflies is a great sequel to chasing butterflies. Even though the focus was on Brie and Chance, I love that all the characters we fell in love with in the first book are still in the background so that we still enjoy their feisty commentaries, but the book is so well written that it could as well be a stand-alone. To be honest I think many people should take notes because this is how to write a series. Terri E. Laine has shown us repeatedly how talented she is and it comes through once again in this book. Her ability to connect with the characters pain and the skill with which she conveys that intensity through words is quite simply genius. The third book is not announced yet but I am already anticipating it because some clues and hints where thrown in this book that already got me excited. This a great read that I absolutely recommend. Terri E. Laine once again made us laugh with this group of people, cry for them when they are hurting, and love them wholeheartedly. It is quite simply brilliant.

    Terri has hit it out of the park* hey there wasn't a good football one I could use* I just couldn't put the book down. Chance and Brie's story just pulls at my heart strings. Chance literally got shortchanged in his home life but has proven home life doesn't define you. He first meets Brie and well screws up only to get his second chance. Brie is smart and funny she's falls for chance only to be broken so to say but her heart beats for only one and it takes her getting in trouble with the university to figure it out. Now I'm going to stop there even though I just want to spill everything about the book to anyone that will listen but then you won't read it. This is for sure a must read and Terri I can't wait to read what's next

    I absolutely loved the first book of this series Chasing Butterflies and I was really excited for Chance's story. Chance was one of the best guys though Kelley had set the bar damn high that it's almost impossible to reach up to him but Chance came really close.The Story: Brie is a rather normal and down to earth girl, nothing compared to those blond, tall and skinny girls that will stop at nothing to catch one of the gorgeous football players. Due to the pressure of her family of doctors Brie plans to focus solely on her studies though after having met Chance she can't seem to forget him. When he broke her heart she had an even harder time moving on and now it seems he is determined to get her back.Chance had his heart broken once by his long-time now ex-girlfriend and doesn't plan on getting into something serious soon again. Though when he sees Brie he is attracted to her in a way he can't ignore. When he had hurt her, a couple of years back, he learned that he can't live without her and is determined to get her back. Life isn't always easy and Chance has a rather hard path to walk on but Brie is his silver lining.Will Chance get his second chance? Thoughts: Chance was such a great character. He was smart, sexy and determined when it came to what he wanted. He was a real gentleman even though he had some tough stuff going on in his life and my heart broke for him a few times. Everything felt so real and that's thanks to the author's amazing writing. She knows how to bring her characters to life on the paper.I don't know why but I struggled in the beginning to get into the story and it wasn't until 35% into it that I finally got captured by Chance's story. Brie was a character that I liked in the first book but I couldn't warm up to her in this story until almost the end. Her life didn't really interest me and that was a real pity because she was a lovely girl.The story was still – as I was used to from Terri's previous books – well written and I enjoyed reading about all the other characters we already got to know in the first book. The whole gang was present in this story and I hope they will all get their own book at one point. What ultimately captured me in this story was Chance's background and the stuff that happened in his life. I'm a highly sensitive person and it broke my heart to read about his family's story. Chance is a guy you wish that'd really exist and better yet be a part in your life. This book was about making the best of your life no matter the ugly stuff that'd happen and what better way to get through the tough times than with your friends who always have your back. Love is strong enough to survive a lot that life throws your way and even when you don't grab the opportunities the first time they offer themselves sometimes you get a second chance even when you have to work hard for them. But it's always absolutely worth it in the end because you know what you've lost the first time and you don't take for granted that you've gotten a second chance and that's why you hold on even tighter. I highly recommend this bittersweet yet lovely story and especially this series. Even though this book can be read as a standalone I would suggest to start with the first book because first it’s an amazing book and second you get introduced to the secondary characters which also appear in this second book and both stories overlap at some point which would give away spoilers if you would read the second book first. -- This ARC was kindly provided by Social Butterfly PR in exchange for an honest review. --

    Rolling up my sleeves for this review because this book was insane! This is Brie & Chance's love story. Brie's experiencing college life & Chance is experiencing college life as a star football player. His friend Sawyer said they were Gods!Chance got his heart broken into pieces when his long-time girlfriend cheated on him right before high school graduation. He wasn't open for a new girlfriend when he met Brie. But Chance couldn't help himself. Brie's beautiful, sweet and innocent. Brie & Chance hung out as friends but then life gets in the way, hearts break. Fast forward to Junior year, and thanks to friends, their world's collided again. Brie wasn't jumping for joy and making up for lost time. Heartbreak definitely makes you think twice. Holy Moly! I caught Fireflies and I am holding them close to my heart. Chance is perfect and beautiful. I fell hard for him in the opening and my heart shattered shortly thereafter. Tell me there isn't something about a broken man, something that calls to you from deep down inside. And no, not to save him, but to cherish him and love him the way he was meant to. That is what Chance did for me.It was love at first sight and it was so strong that it turned into fear at first sight. Chance felt something powerful and had to fight what he was feeling for Brie. Brie, was falling hard for Chance, he was perfect and she was looking forward to more. Then, she reveals her secret at the same time Chance realized that he needed to back away. To say it was hard for them is an understatement.Fast Forward 2 years.Brie and Chance are now back in each other’s lives because of their friends. Nothing she does will push him away. He has one goal, to get his girl back. She wants absolutely nothing to do with him, heck she's even moved on and is dating. Too bad for her, because Chance is determined and willing to sweep her off her feet. That my friends, is exactly what happened. She saw it coming, she fought it, she didn't want to feel the pain again; but he won. He caught his firefly, he is romantic beyond one’s imagination. He's real, he's raw, he's strong; this is what his relationship with Brie is like. Therefore, they make it; it’s why their second chance worked.They both have insecurities, she her secret. He his dad and family. She comes from an affluent family, he's flat broke. But his life is more, he and his dad have suffered so much pain. That relationship drew me in. This relationship is the foundation for his relationships, because of this he is who he is. It’s not pretty and you will need tissue but its needed and it is very raw and painful.The end was beyond my imagination, it’s a true HEA and he always, always, always puts Brie first. This is truly one of my favorite reads of the year, a book that is engaging, powerful, and raw. One that has me crying and gives me all these amazing feelings. An ABSOLUTE must read. Thank you for such a beautiful story!Now I am patiently waiting to see what the other two friends have going on. Hmmmmm….

    Catching Fireflies is a story about second chances.Chance hasn't had the best life; his mom left when he was little and his dad turned to alcohol. Then he had his heart broken by his high school sweetheart. He waited four years for her to be ready to take the next step, and instead she gave it to someone else. So he decided to never give another woman his heart. Brie was what her parents called their "late life love child". She starts college with a new attitude and a new hair colour. What she doesn't count on is meeting a tall, athletic, and beautiful guy who will break her heart and lead her down a path filled with cartons of Ben & Jerry's ice cream...When Brie and Chance first lock eyes across a crowded campus, Chance is drawn to her golden hair and the spray of freckles across her face. They get to chatting and find out a lot about each other. Chance isn't put off that Brie's major is Psychology. They date casually, never taking that next step toward being a couple. But then panic starts to set in when Chance's fear from what his ex did starts to weigh on him.It will be two years before Chance gets another opportunity, his second chance with Brie...When Chance and Brie once again come face-to-face, he learns that Brie has moved on. So he makes a deal with her...asking for her to go on dates with him and, given the chance, prove he is the person she should truly be with. He woos her with home-cooked meals and picnics in the park. It's here where they attempt to catch fireflies... I really loved watching Chance win back Brie and crack those walls around her heart. He did it the old fashion way, where expense wasn't spared and the little things meant the most. Where is was just the two of them falling in love all over again. I really loved this story and Terri's writing was breathtaking!
