Severed Ties Reviews
Awesome sequel! Loved it, praised it, admired it! It was everything and more! We continue our revenge journey with the awesome Wendy, she is more determined than ever to kill Pelton for his betrayal. But Wendy has problems of her own at the Shelter, she may be friends with most of the people but her worse enemy she has made is Dennis. Who continues to make her life hell. With so much problems with others, there more deadlier problems with the people. A disease seems to have infected almost all the adults , except the teenagers. The map that Wendy tore is the key to finding the cure. But it seems that their plans have been given out to their enemies, suspicions of a traitor within their mists is possible. Even is Wendy is learning to be friends with people, there is still a little voice inside of her that keeps making her lose her insanity. She feels like a monster, craving for blood, she has flashes and visions about her past, they haunt her days and nightmares keep her awake. But it seems that there is a person who makes her heart skip and flutter in such a way that has never happened before. I appreciate how the romance was put into this story, it was very subtle and light, which I loved because Wendy is unstable, there is no way she is ready to let anyone get close to her but there are hints of it throughout and I believe it was the perfect way. Very exciting to see this connection grow throughout the series Overall, an awesome sequel, and I am excited to read more! Received a copy from the author herself in exchange for an honest review!
I absolutely loved Fractured Memories! So, when I got to the end and discovered that by signing up for the author's newsletter, I could read the next book in the series for free, I jumped on it and immediately signed up and downloaded Severed Ties. I loved this book just as much as the first one! It continued to develop the dystopian world and story, with just as many twists and turns as the first book. Again, this book left off at a great point to start the next chapter of Wendy's journey but didn't leave me checking to make sure that the book was actually over. This book also refrains form trying to shove romance where it doesn't belong. Wendy is working through some MAJOR trauma. To try to shove her into her first romantic relationship ever, while she is still struggling with so many other things would just be wrong. Again, I am thankful that the author did not ruin her book by placing the cookie cutter YA love triangle in the middle of it. She doesn't let a crush on a boy dominate her thoughts and make everything else irrelevant. She doesn't change everything and become an idiot just because she has a crush on a guy. Throughout the book, Wendy remains a complete badass who will do anything to save others. This was an AWESOME follow up to Fractured Memories! I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series! Please note: While I desperately want to download book #3 right now and continue reading (I immediately pulled it up on Amazon, as soon as I finished reading), I have another trilogy to read and review in the next two weeks that I committed to first. :( So, I will be waiting (somewhat patiently) to continue reading and see what happens next! I received a copy of Fractured Memories for free through The Review Chain in exchange for an honest review.Check out this and many more review on my blog: Meet Your New Favorite Book
I want to start off with my overall thoughts, I definitely enjoyed this sequel more than the first. It did not have the angsty teenage girl whose paranoia seemed to cause way more problems than it solved. This book works because the action keeps it flowing from plot to plot, though there was a moment where the plot seemed a little forced. There definitely seems to be more depth to the main character, though it is starting to shift to a dystopian teenage love story (nothing wrong with that, it just isn't my taste). Once again though, Schneider has proven an ability to write and this book is proof that her style is getting better.
I really like the series. Now I am on book 3 !! Not sure I want the series to end!
Another amazing book! It was so good that I finished it in one day and I'm hyped up for the next! Like the first book, lots of action and plot development. Lots of unexpected events as well... I can't say what happened, but perhaps people can change after all. Definitely a great book and I'd recommend reading this series! Loved it!
