    Adalyn Weaver has lost her parents and the will to live really. She wants nothing more than to join her family. She even tried once to join them but then Luca shows up. He helps her heal, though there is some serious stuff going on that she knows nothing about. This books builds slowly, but that's actually a good thing because we actually get to know the characters and by the time the really good stuff kicks in we can just enjoy the ride. Adalyn to me, doesn't start out as a very strong character but I think she really develops through this novel and that is something I love to see! Character building. And The author here does a great job with her. I also really like the lycan aspect of this book. I wasn't expecting it at all! A wonderful surprise! There is a few minor editing issues but they are easily over looked as they are minor I take no stars away for that. There is a cliffhanger though so he prepared for that! You're going to love this book! *I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review*

    I did not put this book down from start to finish! The story builds, it has all the feels, and it twists you around in truly unexpected kind of ways... I will be telling all my book friends about this book! <3.. I cannot wait for the next book!

    Within the first three chapters I was hooked!Adalyn has lost her parents and must now learn how to live again without them. She has no friends and lives with her aunt Jesse. In walks Lucas, the new boy in school and little by little Adalyn with the help of Lucas begins to live her life. However, there are secrets that will soon surface that will rock Adalyn's foundation.I feel that the plot is strong and the characters are well developed and likable. Another thing I loved was that though I had an inkling that this was about lycans there isn't actual proof until halfway through the book which I found rather refreshing and awesome as the author was allowing us the opportunity to get to know the characters on a personal level before revealing the truth.I look forward to reading the second book and to the continuing growth of this author.{I received an eARC in exchange for an honest review}

    I received this as an arc for an honest review and it's a must read story. I can't wait to read what's next. This is a five star read(even though it does have some editing problems, it's still 5 star for me) it has some major twists that I didn't expect at all. I honestly didn't read the blurb or what kind of book it was and I'm glad I didn't because it added to the surprise. I never wanted to put it down and always had to know more. It does end with a cliffhanger that makes you scream for more but take my word this story is unique and thrilling. The characters are amazing and you instantly fall in love with them all.

    Faithfully Shattered is the first novel in the Shattered series by Nicole Minuck. I went into this book unaware of what to expect since this is a new author to me. She surprised me with crazy twists and turns throughout. I often found myself on the edge of my seat and eager for the next scene.Adalyn desperately needs a friend, whether she wants to admit it or not. Luca swoops in at the perfect moment. They are sweet and loyal to one another. I enjoyed experiencing their friendship blossom into more. This is just the start for Adalyn, Luca, and all the secrets this author has up her sleeve. I look forward to reading more from Nicole.

    Disclaimer: I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review!Faithfully Shattered is about Adalyn, a young girl who has lost her parents to a car accident. Distraught and overcome with guilt she struggles each day to put one foot in front of the other. That is until she meets the handsome Luca who is determined to keep her safe, even from herself. Then just when things start to look up for her she gets threatened by intruders searching for her parents' work. Adalyn begins to wonder if her parents' death was really an accident.As someone who has never personally suffered from a close loss it was hard for me to relate to the main character of the story, who spends the majority of the first few chapters in a hyper depressive state. That being said Nicole does a great job at giving someone who hasn't experienced that kind of heart wrenching depression a peek at what it is like. This book is full of teen anguish (including attempted suicide), drinking, sexual references, and drug use, meaning it is not for the faint of heart. But while there are all those things, there is the sweet blossoming love between Adalyn and Luca that makes you just want to root for them until the very end!Overall the story was enjoyable and while the big reveal at the end could have been hinted at closer to the beginning of the story (we don't even find out that it's a supernatural story until half way through the book), I did find myself turning the next page to find out how things would play out.The only critique I could find was the need for a proofreader. There were several errors throughout the story and it was pretty distracting.But if you can see passed the cosmetic errors and not so exciting book cover, you'll find a story about a girl finding her inner strength and love along the way.I give this story a 4 bunnies!Erin's Book Reviews: An Author Reviewing Other Authors

    The story itself is YA which I enjoyed a lot, the style and tone, fit very well within the genre’s settings and I felt right there, dragged along, kicking and screaming at the kindle for these characters are put through the mill, emotionally and physically. Adalyn – Addy our MC involved in a terrible accident that takes her parents lives. For anyone, an accident is going to be traumatic, but this hits us as readers in all the right places. Adalyn is broken, inside and out and the journey she now faces is something that grips us and keeps us reading from start to finish. I totally felt every pain she went through choice and decision. Great writing. There were some very interesting other characters, of course, the ‘bad’ boy that takes an interest in her, Luca gets our own hearts racing. A devilishly deep and yet sensitive young man, with many secrets as to that interest in our MC. The friendships, Addy has at school with the girls and guys in her classes are spot on, dialogue and banter really took me back a few years. Schools aren’t that much different from the US to the UK and the characters were decent enough to not feel stereotypical as supporting roles. The novel itself is the first for this author and a second edition? It was also listed as Paranormal but I wasn’t 100% sure on how it might fit into the genre or till part way through the book, I do think there could have been some hints about her families’ past, even if tiny ones. However, the secrets were indeed that, but once established they were interwoven within the storyline pretty well. And I found myself really wanting to get to the ending. Yes, a bit of a cliffhanger from the action leading into I believe book 2, I think I can let the author off as it was a great read. Great to meet a new writer and I look forward to more.

    There are so many layers and emotions in this story and it pulls you in from the moment you start reading. Immediately we are so connected to Jess and Addy due to the tragedy that they have endured, and the emotions are running thick. Then we see Luca and we see a shift. Luca seems to be placed in her life at the absolute perfect time. He doesn't really know Any so he is her fresh start and saving grace. Luca is the best thing that ever happened to Addy until he wasn't. There are so many layers to what we know, what we think we know, what is really going on and all of the in-between.Between the layers and the emotions this book is so perfect. Nicole really knows when to pull on your heart strings, when to make you smile or blush and when to make us laugh. Her being so attuned to these emotions that it really makes for a great story! Another interest layer of this book is the paranormal aspect. It's something that kind of kicks you in the face, IN A GOOD WAY, out of no where! It's such a pleasant surprise!!! I love when PNR books aren't really PNR Books. Nicole did a great job of making it a slight detail in the book!CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT COMES NEXT!!!

    Oh God I loved this book so much!! From the beginning I knew it would be a good book like those who catch you and you can not stop reading. I started reading and I fell in love with Luca, I knew he was going to be the light in Adalyn's life and he was. I loved them as a couple from the beginning they got together and they had confidence. I kept reading and every time I liked more how they where as a couple but as in every love story there is always someone who is jealous of that beautiful couple and this story was not the exception. What we did not know was because Cyra acted like this with Adalyn but the book gave a turn so unexpected that I was like that wow like really wow I did not expect that but it like so much that move. This book leaves you in suspense with desire of more and more and there is when comes Faithfully Fractured and yoy need to read it to know what really happened with Luca. I dying to read it and know more about Adalyn and Luca and their beautiful love.

    Loved this book. This was my first book by Nicole Minuck, and I loved every minute of it. The one thing that caught me off guard was I didn't know it was paranormal. I just dug in, I love YA, and this one seemed like it was going to be amazing, then you throw in paranormal?!?! Uh yas please. Sign me right up. This book does end in a cliff hanger, sort of. I mean if you really want you can say, wow, thats some ending, but....ya gotta move on to the second book, and finish it out, which I intend to do soon. Addy is such a mess after loosing her parents and Luca seems to bring her out of that funk, with just the right attention, and the support. This story is told entirely by Addy.

    This is this Authors first book and I was really looking forward to it. After I read the description my mind was running rampant on what could possibly happen and what I got was so much more than what I was expecting.Adalyn broke my heart from the start. But as the book went on, her strength and determination really showed.Luca was a mystery. I really wish we had gotten into his head to know what he was thinking but by the end of the book we understood all his secrets. He was so sweet and determined. While this book was YA and that's not my favorite genre, I thought that it really works for these characters in the story.Being that this is the Authors first book, I really love the fact that her imagination was amazing. She added such amazing descriptions as well as awesome dialogue between the characters that i'm going to not so patiently wait for the next book! In the end there were a lot of twists and shocking moments! I really enjoyed it. I can't wait to see where the author takes it next. We are slowly seeing Addy gain a back bone and work her way through her past! 4 stars #2OCCJD

    Reviewed on behalf of Queens of the Darkside Book Blog.Holy Heck this was one heck of a book. I absolutely loved it and I can't wait for book 2.Nicole you are an amazing writer. You have a way of pulling the reader in and making them feel and experience everything the characters are feeling.⚠ Warning!!!!! Cliffanger!!! Addy lost her parents in a horrible accident. She returns to school after a long break. During her first day she meets Luca. They automatically hit it off and become very close.Luca is a huge part of her recovery in the death of her parents. But Addy doesn't realize she is helping him too.If I say too much it will give it all away. Luca feels guilty about some things that have happened and feels the need to protect the one girl he never thought he'd fall for. Now its is life mission to keep her safe from the "others." Luca is a part of a group that was supposed to eradicated in the past. Thanks to research he and his family are able to live a normal life. Addy just wants to have a normal life but the pain of losing her parents keeps taking over.She leans on Luca for comfort. She returns home to feel close to her parents again. This is where it gets really good. Someone is in her home searching for something maybe it was the same thing she is looking for, answers. Answers to what the research was about and maybe what happened to her parents.She doesn't realize she is in severe danger until events start happening. Luca is there to help her understand the truth. Excellent book!!!! 5 stars for excellent writing!!! Addy was my favorite character. I envy her courage and strength to keep moving on.

    Faithfully Shattered is a book that will make you want more Luca. He is the perfect mysterious and all around bad boy that readers always fall for. Since the beginning I questioned his intentions, but as always I quickly fell for the way he was there for Adalyn and the way he would protect her. Luca just knows how to warm your heart. Faithfully Shattered was very well written and I liked the voice of Adalyn. She had been through so much heartache that she was just suffering. It was so sad but I am glad that Luca was there. Adalyn grew throughout the book and that is one thing that I really liked. She did have her difficult moments but they were acceptable. The book wasn't rushed and I appreciate that. I am glad that Adalyn was angry and that it took her time to finally open up. This is how it's supposed to be. The problem I had was that I knew where this books was going, since the beginning I had an idea, but it took long to get there. That is one thing that I disliked. I didn't want predictable but I felt it was. I also wanted to feel more of the characters emotions. But other than that I think that this book was great. I really enjoyed the characters interactions and the way that it moved forward.I am so ready for the next book because I need to find out more. There are still so many secrets that I need to find out! I need to know more about Adalyn and Luca. The ending was were all the action was and I loved that! It makes me anticipate book two even more. Faithfully Shattered was just the beginning, I am ready for more of these characters and their story.

    Faithfully Shattered is the first Nicole Minuck has written, and she should never stop writing! I loved this book and once I started reading had read keep reading until it was finished. The characters and the story keep me interested and wanting more. Adalyn finds her best friend and boyfriend hooking up at a party and calls her parents to come get her, on the way home they get in a car accident and her parents are killed. With no boyfriend, best friend or parents Adalyn is a sad girl that feels alone and responsible for her parents deaths. Luca is a mysterious boy who takes an interest in Adalyn and is helping her to start to feel happy again. Luca and his friends have something very mysterious about them. Luca has a very strong need to protect Adalyn. Faithfully Shattered is a paranormal story about the relationship between Adalyn and Luca. This book has a lot of mystery, action and chemistry between the characters. Nothing is what it seems to be and the twists and turns keep you looking for more!I can’t wait to read the next book to find out more!

    So to start when began reading my heart ached for Addy. Due to a few similarities. As I continued a few suspicions began to arise. I began to wonder if the mysterious Luca and family are supernaturals, more specifically shifters. Then the teacher brings up Lycans. I have to say throughout this story I shouted and spoke out loud to it as one does to a tv football or baseball game. The first 2/3rds of the book slowly build up to a big action scene and answers that occur in the last bit, I was on the edge of my seat when the book ends. I have a love/hate relationship with books like this. I hate them because the next book is not always readily available. But I love it because it keeps me thinking about it and makes me eager for more.

    This is a book that can end up leaving the reader surprised and enthralled. What happens when you lose everyone that is close to you, and you are barely hanging on. Do you fight to go on, or do you just want to give up? As Adalyn is just about to give up fate comes knocking, she finds out the truth she thought may have been a lie and those she lost might have actually been taken from her out of greed. She meets a boy that ends up following her down the path to find truth, but will he be there to help her or stop her? This book is full of twists and turns that will lead the reader to the final ride. Thank you for allowing me to read this and write a honest review.

I would suggest it for Young Adult/ Teenagers as well. I think the audience would be able to relate very well to the main character.

    Here is my warning. I set down to read a few chapters of this book after work to unwind. 15+ chapters in my stomach was growling and all the work emails I was going to send that night did not get done. This book is like you are taking a sweet romantic ride through the tunnel of love snuggled with your sweetheart and then the doors open and you are taking the plunge of death. It had me mind racing in circles. It was an awesome read that you NEED TO READ.We meet Adalyn as she is trying to cope with the loss of her parents. She has no will to go on in life. You will feel so much of her emotion as she battles her devastations. As she goes back to school she as all alone because her friends can't cope with her depression. Her ex best friend and ex boyfriend are horrible, horrible people. I wanted to reach through my kindle and throttle them. Luca is the new guy in school and his focus is on Adalyn. He helps her learn to deal with her depression and gives her hope. He teaches her how to life. It is such a sweet romantic story. Well then we meet Luca's family and I start to have a few questions. Then I feel like Ms. Minuk pulls the rug from underneath me and throws some twists and turns in the story that leave me saying what just happened. Things get messy, complicated and nail biting scary at times. This is why the book starts off as the tunnel of love and ends with the drop of death. Luca and Adalyn fight to protect each other right until the end and then wham you are hit with the cliff hanger.So I am going to stop writing this review and get reading the second book because I NEED to find out what happens. I will leave you with this. READ THE BOOK.....LIKE RIGHT NOW.I voluntarily read a copy of this book for Kylie's Fiction Addiction.
