Lindy's Thoughts:Volume Two of Defining Love picks right up where the first volume ended. Aaron couldn't get Henri out of his mind. So, he sets up the opportunity for Henri to begin working at his business. Now with both Aaron and Henri seeing one another day to day, the dynamic between them begins to shift. They begin sharing their personal lives with one another, and a friendship quickly blossoms. Simultaneously, attraction and deeper feelings begin to develop. Options are going to need to be weighed, decisions made, and consequences dealt with.Things begin to pick up in the second volume of Defining Love. We get the dual perspectives of Henri and Aaron which brings to light where they both are mentally and emotionally concerning their individual relationships, and feelings toward one another. The intense connection between Henri and Aaron grows exponentially in this volume. The sexual chemistry and anticipation of the inevitable raises to an all time high. My Rating:I give, Defining Love, Volume Two, by Elizabeth Reyes, 4 Emotional Infidelity, Electric Sexual Chemistry, On the Edge of Your Seat Filled Stars! I can't wait to see how Henri and Aaron's story will end!*To Read More Book Reviews, Visit A Bookish Escape at http://www.abookishescape.com

In Defining Love, Vol. 1, we learned how Henri and Aaron grew up and came to be in their current relationships. We also saw their instant attraction to each other and Henri agreeing to work for Aaron. Defining Love, Vol. 2 resumes the story. Henri begins working for Aaron. She is still hiding her relationship with Edi and is wondering if she is really in love with her. Aaron is trying to ignore the spark he feels for Henri and keep Mia happy. But he's starting to have doubts as he and Henri open up more and more to each other about their personal lives and relationships. I absolutely loved Defining Love, Vol. 2. Now that the story had been set up, it's really all about the interactions between Henri and Aaron and how their growing feelings for each other are bringing to light their real feelings about the relationships they are in. I'm excited to read Vol. 3 and see how the story plays out. I am going to say one negative thing, even though I loved this volume. I really wish it had just been one book instead of three parts. The first book was good, but felt like it needed more. The second book is so good and the cliffhanger was good but read together the entire story was even better. It deserves to be an entire book rather than serials. But I know Ms. Reyes had her reasons and I'm sure it will become apparent when I get to read the next volume.

This new series, which is a serial of three volumes, by Elizabeth Reyes, is a new reading experience for me. I don't handle cliffhangers well. When a book ends that way I count down the days until I can get my hands on the rest of the story! Elizabeth Reyes' writing style is amazing and you get attached to her characters pretty fast. You always wish you can have more time with them. This second volume picks up exactly where the first one left off. Henri has accepted an offer to go work for Aaron. She's not sure how well she will adapt to this new job, but one thing is sure, her new boss is making her feel things she should not feel. They are both in serious relationship with other people and the more time they spend together, the more they are attracted to each other. Aaron proposed to his longtime girlfriend, but the spark in their relationship as disappeared. Henri is like a breath of fresh air in his life. He is blown away by her ideas and the dedication that she has for her work. As days go by, Henri and Aaron realize that the feelings that they have for each other are mutual. What will happen next?I knew going into this second volume that the ending was going to leave me at the edge of my seat! We get a dual POV that describes perfectly what Henri and Aaron are going through. Keeping their feelings a secret from each other, and from others, is difficult. Insecurities are starting to surface and it's becoming harder for both these characters to stay connected with the people they love. Even if nothing happened between Henri and Aaron there is some emotional cheating going on. I really don't know how I feel about this. In my opinion, if you don't love somebody anymore you should let them go. I have heard that you can love two people at the same time, but not with the same intensity. Henri and Aaron are in that situation. They both love the people they are with, but they have a bond between them that is stronger than anything they have ever felt. This was a great continuation to Henri and Aaron's journey. I can't wait to see what's next for them. I am positive that the last volume of this series will be an emotional one. Even if they find happiness together, the people that they love at the moment will have a broken heart.I give Defining Love, Volume 2, by Elizabeth Reyes, 4 fascinating, page-turning, listen to your heart stars!

Ro's Take on this Journey:Defining Love, Vol.2, by Elizabeth Reyes is the sequel in this serial. This novel takes off with an explosion of excitement! The entire series is done in alternating views from Aaron to Henri. We know what each is thinking at all times. The pace is written so well that you are swept into each new perspective so rapidly that you can't put the novel down. Aaron and Henri both have had an overwhelming attraction to each other since they first met on New Years Eve. Neither has made any move, and stayed in their respective relationships. Yet, each has emotionally left their relationships for the other. Aaron finds a way to manipulate the situation to get his unaware sister, Bea, to bring Henri into his business as an employee. Once that begins, all bets are off!The two begin a cat and mouse game of sorts with each other, and at the same time, guilt is pouring out of each of them to do the right thing. Neither crosses the line physically, but emotionally they have to face the facts! Their requited love becomes intense to say the least, and once these two unleash their passion, there is no stopping them. You will feel for them and their significant others. The pain they suppress and their partners endure is palpable. Your hearts will ache for all of them. This novel brings them all into a realization about themselves and each other. Aaron has had a pretty privileged life, and finally realizes that the woman he has fallen in love with has scars that run very deep. He tries to help Henri. He sees her beauty inside and out. The question is: Can Henri see herself through to the future, and leave her guilt and shame behind her. This is a fast paced, fascinating read!My Rating:I give, Defining Love, Vol.2, by Elizabeth Reyes, 5 Incredible, Electrifying, Hot, Controversial, Hopeful, Amazing Life Journey Stars! *To Read More Book Reviews, Visit A Bookish Escape at http://www.abookishescape.com

My Heart Be StillAaron and Henrietta are still struggling with the unknown of there feelings. Confused and trying to make sense of the physical and emotional connection they are feeling, Henrietta confides in Aaron that she is in a lesbian relationship with her bestfriend Edi, but they're taking things slowly. Both hoping that this would dull the confusion of what they feel for each other... no such luck. Aaron tells Henrietta that he's not sure why he hasn't married his long-term girlfriend Mia, but he also admits that he felt pressured by Mia, his family and friends...his and hers and the fact that he stays with her, because he would miss her friendship, makes Henrietta think about Edi and how she loves her best friend, but not IN-LOVE!!! Henrietta also knows she never wants to hurt Edi, but her inability to except lost, has crippled her to believe she can be in a gay relationship as long as no one else knows. Until, Aaron's, relationship gets tilted on its axes and Henrietta gets confronted about Aaron and their relationship in front of Edi. What truth will Henrietta be able to except and explain???

Volume 2 picks up right from where we left off in volume one. Where the first book was centred more around Henri, this book is a more even balance between the two main characters of Henri and Aaron and we get to see how their friendship develops. This really is a fascinating book as whilst both characters are in committed relationships and refuse to cheat on their partners, they can't deny to themselves that there is 'something' between them and that they are drawn to each other. It's different to see in a book two characters that are developing an emotional and personal relationship rather than a physical relationship first. This book does end with a bit of a cliffy so I'm definitely counting down the days until part 3 so I can see how this story will end!

I Loved the very traditional relationship of Aaron and Mia in contrast to the not so traditional relationship of Henri and Edi. It definitely gave me the feels watching the connection build between Aaron and Henri especially because I truly liked Edi and I didn't dislike Mia. There were decisions made that had me shaking my head because I knew they would end badly, but at the same time I understood why they were made. The book had a very realistic feel to it.I did receive an arc copy of this book and this is my honest review.

I am really enjoying the way this story is unfolding. Both Henri and Aaron continue to struggle with their true feelings, especially now that they are working together. It is frustrating to see people make excuses for not doing the right thing. Neither of them want to hurt Edi or Mia, but that is all that is happening as they continue on this path. Another ending that makes you want to scream, but thank goodness for the short wait time in between. Can't wait to see how this ends.

Another great short storyAnd the story continues between Aaron and Henri. We get to learn more about their feelings for each other and how complicated their lives will be if they pursue their hearts and ignore what their minds are telling them to do. What will happen next? Read and find out!

Review originally posted at Ramblings From This ChickVolume 2 continues the story of Henri and Aaron, with Henri just having accepted a job working for Aaron. As the two begin to spend more time together, they get to know one another better and the attraction between them intensifies. Aaron and Henri are both still in relationships though, and neither of them would ever hurt their significant others by cheating on them. But the closer they grow to one another, the more they begin to rethink their relationships. In this installment it was so clear that while both Aaron and Henri cared about who they were with, it was also different from how they knew they should care about the person they were with. Aaron loved Mia and didn't want to hurt her, but he also knew that he didn't feel passionate about her as he did other things in life. His growing connection with Henri made that very apparent, and he knew that he needed to make some changes. Henri was still struggling with her relationship with Edi, knowing that she wasn't gay but that she didn't want to lose her best friend. She knew that her growing feelings for Aaron were changing things in her life, and yet she also knew that because of the path she had started on with Edi, ending things would completely change the friendship that she had with Edi. I really loved seeing Aaron and Henri grow closer as they got to know one another. It was so clear that they were passionate about the same things and that they connected in a way that they didn't with others. They had such a natural ease with each other, and it was impossible not to see the attraction between them. But what I loved most about these two is that they never crossed that line, and there was no cheating. Though they were bonding emotionally, they had never done anything that was entirely inappropriate. I'm not saying that their feelings or thoughts were completely innocent (because they weren't) but they never acted on anything or took it to that level, which I found really refreshing.**ARC Provided by As The Pages Turn**

Flipping between both Henri and Aaron’s points of view, this picks right back up from the end of the first volume and it never lets up.I was hard pressed to keep up with all the twists and turns as they unfolded.Aaron just can’t get Henri out of his head and in a bid to feed his need to be close to her, he manages to manipulate his sister Bea into giving Henri a job. Now, that brought me my first WTF moment – I mean he is still in a relationship with Mia. And although he appears to be doing what he can to make sure that what he has with Mia is unscathed, his heart is torn, he simply cannot be without Henri, there is something primal between them, it defies explanation but it is obvious that they are simply unable to fight their attraction. What they have had in the past with their partners begins to fade into platonic insignificance as they sleepwalk their way towards the inevitable. They are each fighting their own internal struggle and that is taking its toll but working together, hell that has bad idea written all over it!! Seeing each other on a daily basis is a temptation that neither of them needs and I have to say I was ready to watch the sparks fly!I was captivated by the way the two of them danced ineffectively around their feelings, but I was mindful of the fact that no matter what they felt they were already in relationships, albeit doomed ones.As hard as they fought the inevitable, there was no denying that when they eventually relented and came together the resulting unleashed passion was always going to be soul destroying – for everyone concerned – Henri and Aaron finally experienced the enormity of their relationship and their unsuspecting partners were left out in the cold having done nothing wrong – my heart broke for them all. Love leaves a trail of devastation and heartbreak under many normal circumstances but their love was far from normal. But can they absorb the enormity of what they have and what they have done and can they find a way to accept that despite their differences, they were made for each other? Henri I feel may have more trouble with that scenario than Aaron!

This review is for all three volumes together, since I read almost all of them in one night (and finished the last one hour the next night).I picked up "Defining Love" with my Kindle Unlimited, and I'm glad I did. I've read many of the 5th Street and Moreno Brothers' stories, and I just keep coming back. I would say that in comparison to those which are related to each other, these are not (yet--will they be?) tied into other stories. That was a little bit refreshing for me. Also, while I still felt Aaron would be considered "alpha," it seemed played down a bit, which worked well with the story. Along those lines, most of the "sexy" scenes are closer to the end, and a bit played down as well. I think these were good things for Henri and Aaron's story, as their's was such an emotional journey.I really enjoyed Henri's resiliency, and I think that made her moments of weakness so much more poignant. There's one particular scene where she is explaining to Aaron what is wrong with her and as a reader it was so emotional and even visceral to watch her deal with her demons. I think really one of my favorite things about this story is how the characters know one thing but act like another. It reminds me of real life, when you know one thing in your head but you keep holding out hope in your heart that what your head knows just isn't true. I know this was a source of conflict for the characters, and it was done really well. I think too often we get to see the "noble" character who always uses their head and nips any problems right when they arise. But here, it is the combination of hope and fear that keeps the characters from taking action, and like I said, this was really well done and as such, one of my favorite components of the story because hey--those characters aren't perfect and noble.I also appreciated how, as I suspect is intended by the title, different types of "love" are realized, as well as the difference in loving someone and being in love with someone.

Defining Love is a bit of a different sort of romance and I really liked that about this three volume story. Henrietta doesn't have much, but when a long lost aunt takes her in, she finally has a home that she can call her own. She's able to make friends, one of which becomes someone that is very special to her. When they go away to college together, Henri's best friend becomes more to her than just friends.Aaron is a good guy. He's stayed committed to his high school friend then sweetheart, Mia. But he knows deep in his heart that Mia isn't the "one". When he meets Henri, he gets a glimpse of what that means, and it's only a matter of time that these two connect, but there are a few hurdles for them to cross first.I liked this story for it's diversity and it pulls off the concept of the "one" person that's meant to be. It's a lot about fate, and I loved that about the story. It wasn't hard to see how both Henri and Aaron got involved and attached to the people they are with, but it's inevitable that Henri and Aaron find a way to be together because their attraction is just that strong. This meant-to-be romance takes a few twists to get to its conclusion, but the final payoff is satisfying. If you like contemporary romance with a bit of a twist, you might like Defining Love.

The second installment of the Defining Love story continues where we left off in book one. This part focuses on the growing friendship between Henri and Aaron, and although I enjoyed this part the most thus far, I still am not digging the author's writing. At times, the grammar and wordcrafting left me a bit confused that I'd have to re-read to determine what the author was trying to tell us. I also felt like we were being told what to feel, rather than making us experience said feelings. Overall, Ms. Reyes has a good story to tell and I am interested in seeing how it all plays out. Looking forward to reading the next (and final) installment.

Typical book two/middle of the book syndrome. Nothing really happens in this installment. Henri is now working for Aaron. Their attraction for each other is only growing the more they get to know each other though they haven't acted on it. Their relationships with their significant others is strained. There's no way either of them are getting out of it without hurt feelings. The final installment promises to be explosive but this one was just ho hum.
