The Road That Leads To Home (The Sara Rhea Chronicles, #1) Reviews
I loved this story of sisters, family, and love. I finished the book in three hours, once I picked it up I wanted to know what would happen with Sara, her father, and if Becca and Sara could finally get along, as sisters and as friends. The storyline was great, in fact I didn't want it to end ... I wish there was more to it.
This was a very cute and sweet story about love, family, loss and home. I started reading this book and I finished it in only a few hours. It’s the type of story that although a little rushed (a lot happens in only 187 pages) because the story is just so cute you want to know what happens between everyone. I think what I really liked about this book is, its not totally a romance book… is there romance in it? Yes of course! But this book is about SO much more then that. It is honestly about finding yourself, loving your family, and well… knowing that you can always go home. Although the ending wasn’t what I was expected… in fact it shocked me completely and made me very mad! I got over it once the story totally finished because I think I understood what the author was trying to get at… so although I was sad and upset and yea a little mad still, it was ok… everything happens for a reason right?Overall, if you are looking for a quick read this is a pretty good book to pick up, the only problem I had with it is that because it is such a short book, I felt that I was unable to really connect with all or any of the characters because there is just SO much that happens in such a short span of time.
WOW!!! On my Nook, it showed it as 72 pages..A MUST READ!!!!!Anyone that has a sibling, even more than 1 sibling, you know , yourself, there will always be a sibling rivalry. With Becca and Sara Rhea, they have had that growing up and basically into adulthood. The Rhea Family owns a Inn that was built by their great grandfather. Their father Robert Rhea has kept it in the family and they all run the Inn in New York. When Becca graduated high school, she decided to stay and help her parents keep the Inn going. Sara on the other hand, went to college, graduated with honors and moved to Florida. One night/early morning, Sara received a call from her sister Becca, letting her know that their father was in the Hospital. Sara came back home to help her sister with the Inn until their dad was able to come home. Sara and Becca were crushed when they found out their father is very sick. Sara had a dream before she answered the call from her sister Becca about their dad. Did their dad pass away?? Is there a love story mixed in this??YOU WILL HAVE TO READ IT!!!I cannot wait to OWN this book and the other books for this series
When I opened this book I was looking for a description of Sara. Little did I know that the book would take hold and I wouldn't be able to put it down till I finished it. This book touched my heart in ways I could not begin to describe here without breaking down. There were times where I laughed out loud and other times where I had to wait to continue reading because my eyes were blurred with tears. I never expected the ending to be what it was, and wish it was not as it is now. I don't know what or if the author has plans to write a second book after this one but I would hope that she will. To end a book on such a heart felt moment and not know what will come next... I would encourage the author to continue this story. I would also recommend this short story to others.
THE ROAD THAT LEADS HOME satisfyingly covers a lot of emotional ground in a compressed series of events at an important juncture for Sara Rhea: her career, love, and a parent’s illness. One of those elements could have easily expanded to a full novel. This makes for a thorough, detailed, and fast-moving opening tour of Sara’s life – her ambitions, problems, and events amid a background of conflicting hopes, fears, and changing plans. The three characters are consistently believable, each with different views and hopes for the future. The novel draws us in by showing how the gulf between characters is bridged. Sara’s response to a normal series of problems will resonate for readers, making this an enjoyable read overall.
This was a heartbreaking story. The ending almost crushed me. Please write more so that my heart is filled again. This is a book that I would reccomend to anyone and everyone to read it is a wonderful read that holds you from the first words.
