    An unusual and erudite dialogue on a wide range of philosophic and literary topics, though in my opinion more successful on the philosophic than the literary frontier. Having said that, be prepared for numerous high-brow witticisms throughout the discussion. You may find yourself taking things entirely jokingly and entirely seriously. The most intricate and interesting discussion was to be found in the central section, "Evil, Death, Love, Politics", and the final essay "Socrates Among the Cicadas" on the resilience and surprising vitality of the dialogue as a form.
