The Miniature Pinscher (Terra-Nova) Reviews
The history of the min pin was pretty good here, but other than that, there wasn't very much breed specific information. For example, she says to watch out which toys you give a min pin, but doesn't say which ones are good. The training ideas were all just good common sense for any dog owner. I'd like to know more about this breed, specifically. I found out more from a few internet sources than this book provided. I'd read that min pins are not for first time dog owners. A bit more information than the typical, "A min pin is a big dog in a small dog body" would be nice. The writing was simple and bland. Informative if you've done no other research, but don't stop with this book.
My children rescued Shadow, a MinPin from people who claim he was wandering the streets in the Tri-Cities of Washington state. He has been a very lively companion for them. Barks a lot, and can't ever seem to get enough to eat. He has many bad habits, but my daughter will never abandon him. I bought this book in the hopes of finding a way to help train him into better habits, but looks like he is who he is.
Well-written concise account of what to expect when bringing a Miniature Pinscher into the family. As a first-time dog owner, I found the book to be very helpful in helping me through the first few days of dog ownership, as was the enclosed DVD. Definitely a handy reference book to keep through the years, as well.
This was pretty informative for what I was looking for. We will soon have an adult Min Pin/Chihuahua mix added to our family. If I need another book with general information about a certain breed of dog, I'd go to this series again.
