Definitely the best book in this series! Kira has a brain and she USED IT! (view spoiler)[ As much as I like Tristan, I was relieved when Kira didn't go all mush over the idea of becoming a vampire to spend forever with him. Luke has always been my favorite character and I'm glad to see he has a chance. And as sad as it sounds, I'm glad Tristan doesn't remember anything. I just hope Kira doesn't feel obligated to visit him and try to restore his memories. Like using the debt that the other vampire owes her to transfer her memories into Tristan. That would be stupid. She should just respect the choice he made (when he told her he wants to move on and never look back). This clean slate gives him a new start and he doesn't have to know the pain of heart break. And she won't have to feel guilty for leaving him. It would be a win-win!(hide spoiler)] Can't wait to read the next book, I'm glad I stuck with this series :)

(Source: I received a digital copy of this book as a gift from the author. Thanks to Kaitlyn Davis!)This is book 3 in the ‘Midnight Fire’ series, and kicks off a short time after the end of book 2 ‘Simmer’.**Warning, some unavoidable spoilers for books 1 &2**After the revelations at the end of book 2 ‘Simmer’, Kira is determined to follow Aldrich to England to see if he’s telling the truth and he really is holding her mother captive.Unfortunately though, the only way Kira can make it to England is to leave Luke behind, something she finds really difficult to do, and something that nags at her and upsets her. Even though Luke is only a friend, losing him is something that she really couldn’t bear.Arriving in England, Kira is hoping that Aldrich really does have her mother, and that she will finally see her in real life for the first time she can remember. Not all is as it seems though, and Kira is about to find out that nothing ever comes easy for her.Does Aldrich really have Kira’s mother? Can Luke ever forgive her for ditching him? What developments will there be in Kira and Tristan’s relationship? And what surprises lie in store for Kira this time?Well, Kaitlyn Davis really did ramp up the heat in this instalment, both romantically, and in terms of the escalating storyline!Kira is focused on finding out if Aldrich really has her mother in this instalment, and she’s got the drive and determination to really go for what she wants, even though she knows that her actions may hurt Luke. I really liked how Kira was brave enough and bold enough to follow her desires to try and find her mother, no matter how small the possibility that she was still alive, but I also liked that Kira was human enough to feel guilt about how she deceived Luke, and to worry about whether their friendship would survive. The love triangle continued in this book, even though Luke got left behind, and again I found it difficult to know who Kira should choose. I personally have decided who I think she should be with now having read ‘Blaze’, but with some major developments at the end of this book, it seriously still hangs in the balance as to who Kira will choose! I’ve picked a side though, and I’m going with Team Luke (strange because I don’t usually choose the underdog!).I liked the storyline in this book, I liked how this book was about Kira following her heart, but how there were still developments in the overall storyline of the series. There was plenty of action at the end of this book, and I liked the twists that I really didn’t see coming! These developments are certainly going to make for a gripping end to the series!Overall; a great paranormal YA, with a unique take on vampires, that continues to get better book by book! 7.5 out of 10.

First of all, my thanks to Kaitlyn Davis for allowing me to be a part of this series from the very beginning. It's so fun to watch indie authors find success. Blaze is the third book in this Midnight Fire Series.SO, Blaze. Wow. Crazy. Kira had so much going on in this book. Dealing with Aldrich is scary. Kira is wary but hopeful that she will be reunited with her birth mother. Trying to juggle her relationships with Tristin and Luke is tricky to say the least. The love triangle is full on. I'm really enjoying the process of self discovery with Kira. She is surprising even herself with her undiscovered talents and abilities. Go Kira! She's going to blow the roof off the place. Luke is the same as always. I love the way he is constant and steady. Always there. I may be a titch in love with Luke. And now we move on to the part where I pick my jaw up off the floor and then commence shreeking because of that ending. Are you kidding me? Did you just leave me hanging like that?! Oh my. I totally did not see that coming. At all.Kaitlyn Davis has done a great job creating vivid characters who evoke emotion in me. This book has to be her best yet. Needless to say I am anxiously awaiting the next book, Scorch.

Finally the "almost" perfect ending I had been wanting from the get go! I believe I had read this before on someone else's review and I must wholeheartedly agree that "Blaze" is the best of the "Midnight Fire" series thus far. Kira's powers have grown exponentially as well as her struggle between life as a Conduit and the promise of eternity with Tristan. I can't say I was disappointed by the outcome. Hopefully, we'll see Kira at last overcome all her obstacles, and everyone will find a happy ending, even if it's bittersweet for some.Telling more would be giving away too many spoilers, a difficult task when I'm practically giddy with the goodies Davis has delivered. Be quite prepared to be warmed, burnt and ignited while reading "Blaze."

This book was surprising and felt wrong the whole time,I love the series but this? This made me mad and made me so sad for Tristan. He was basically hurt by Kira so much, and then thrown in the corner by the author. Ugh I hated the ending. A lil disappointed. I have to admit that I rooted for Luke at one point, but there is really no passion between him and Kira... It's kind of dry. It's cute, but it's dry. When I finally was on board with Tristan relationship with Kira, the author goes and yanks it out of our grips. Plot was good. Character development continued at a good pace and the story kept the excitement. But over all I hope this does not get the ending I think it will get.

Great books on this series! Hooked 100%!!!!!*SPOILER ALERT*(view spoiler)[text>Wow! I loved this book until the rift with Tristan but I get it. But oh my my was I freaked when she burned him! I almost screamed! I spilt my tea on my bed! thank you very much! lol can't wait for Scorched! I hope Pavia can restore Tristan's memories or some of them anyway. I will be happy with whoever she ends up with. as long as in the end good trumps evil! (hide spoiler)]

Wow!!!! What a change of events. I really love this series. I don't want to say too much but I'm sad about the ending and hoping it's just an act. I really like Kira's character. She is such a strong independent girl and to often the lead female is a weak and whiny annoyance. I give Kaitlyn Davis props for taking such a popular genre and writing such a breathtaking story of romance, courage, mystery, and all the while keeping it original.

** WARNING: Spoilers of book one and two **Mini review: Blaze is my favorite book in the series so far. The writing was much smoother, the action more intense, the emotions higher, and the plot even deeper than the previous books. Kira's powers have grown, and she's scared, not only of them but what it could mean for her future with Tristan as well. She has to make a choice, but first, she needs to find her mother. When she goes to England to meet her, she's in for a lot of shocking surprises, and the twists and turns are fabulous! I had my suspicions, but sometimes I really wondered if I was wrong. I wanted to believe the villainous Aldrich and that he could change. I expected the predictable and got anything but. I gasped at the ending, completely floored by the turn of events. The love-triangle continues but was fantastic. Though I was previously a big supporter of Luke, I found myself leaning toward Tristan. He was humanized, made more real and believable. The connection between him and Kira was as apparent as her and Luke's—finally. If I'm getting another love triangle in YA fiction, I want to be gut-wrenchingly torn, and I was in Blaze. The ending ... gah!Series review:... By the end of the series, the relationships were so much more maturely handled than I had expected that I almost wished otherwise. :) But like I've said before, my favorite flavor is bittersweet. If you're looking for a quick YA Paranormal read that's a good balance between romance and plot, focusing on a strong female and with a good cast, you might want to check The Midnight Fire series. Despite its need of good editing, I lost myself in Kaitlyn Davis's world and my own nostalgia—an old love for a light, maybe now "traditional" YA vampire story. Finally this book has had some action. It is by far THE BEST out of the three installments I have read. I liked all the twist and turns; I liked the new characters specially Pavia. I liked the new realization on Kira’s part regarding her love interest, and I really liked the way it ended. Not a cliffhanger but knowing that there is another story to come. And of course it is the last one and the one I am about to start as soon as I finish this review. But, continuing with Kira’s change of heart, sometimes, It is very difficult to realize and finally convince yourself that what you want it is not what you need and vice versa. I am pretty sure it has happened to many of us. Sometimes mind and heart are sync, but suddenly, when you start looking around, at your priorities, your life, and you see the big picture and feeling out of sorts for no particular reason…what do you do?…you begin questioning yourself. And this is exactly what has happened to Kira, she finally understands, that as much as she wants to be with Tristan, as much as she loves him, both their lives are against all odds. It is a very hard decision to make. You look around for all the possible outcomes, but there is no way out. Unfortunately, I already know how it ends because I don’t know why people keep disclosing the ending and part of the stories from books in their reviews. Even if they write ***SPOILER ALERT*** it shouldn’t be allowed because it really ruins it for everybody, both the author and the reader. However, this was the turn I was waiting for in the story, something that keep me interested in what will happened, and not I will finish the series just because I have already started reading it. Again, this is by far, the best book of the series. I hope, hope and hope "Scorch" is as good as this one, for the author to vindicate herself, and of course, for the series to close with a round of applause.

I loved this one the most so far. So much excitement and adventure and suspense. We get a huge twist in this one, and some major questions are answered.Only thing I do not like, is the cover, it’s too generic (meaning I have seen that same model on at least 5 other covers) and the Photoshop work on the face of the guy is awful, makes him look ugly. That’s the worst of that one.I give this 3rd book 5 stars too. Love this series.I received a copy of this book from the author for my honest review.See the tour for the series at my blog, click tour button to go to post, extras at the post tooAlso, visit the authors blog, she gives a recap of the tour, with many guest post of the guys Point of Views!! Wow this series has got me hooked! This is by far the best book in this series (so far){Spoiler alert}Kara, and Tristan search for the truth about her mother. I was shocked that she was leaving Luke behind! I knew from her actions, and emotions while sneaking away and on the plane that she loved him. She was moving further and further away from Tristan emotionally, and Lying to him at the castle just confirmed my reasoning. When she first met her "mother", she was confused Because her mother had the icy blue eyes of a vampire! she realized there's no way this woman is her mother, how is it possible she's a vampire? How is it possible her mother would willing love and be married to this even vampire? She noticed a flicker of Hatred and disgust in "her mothers " eyes, and knew this wasn't her mother, and she knew there must be a evil plan... And plan she needed to do everything she could to find out what it is and how to stop it. Why would this evil vampire go to all this trouble for her.. What does he know that she doesn't? She was going to so whatever she could to figure that out!Once Tristan & the head Vampire told Kara of the possibility to turn into a vampire, so she could have the life with Tristan that they always dreamed of, and she knew right away that there was no way in hell she was gonna do it, I knew that her love for Luke was much stronger than she was willing to omit.I was shocked that she was willing to to possible turn into a vampire and lose herself just to win the fight against the evil vampire. I understand he's the one that turned Tristan, and forced him to do evil things, also killed her mother, and now he's putting on this strange show. But to risk herself...?

This series has gotten better and better with each book and I felt that this book was the best one in the series so far. 4.5 starsI saw one review that gave this book a really horrible rating and told every single thing that happened. I have never gone that route and I never will. Where’s the fun in reading a book if you already know the ending, it’s like watching a movie with someone sitting beside telling you what’s gonna happen next. I’m really glad that I didn’t read that review before reading this book because while yes the OCD in me would still have made me read it, the element of shock, sorrow and surprise would have been gone. I will tell you that there are some major things that happen in this book that you will not like and one of them is something that I never would have seen coming. It’s been a little over a week from where the last book ended and Kira and Tristan have concocted a plan to sneak off to England leaving Luke behind in hopes of protecting him while they look for Aldrich and hopefully find her mother. What Kira doesn’t realize is just how hard it will be. During her journey, Kira finds out the truth but at the same loses a lot more than she had bargained for. There are so many twists and turns in this book as well as heartache not just for Kira but for Luke and Tristan as well. There is a new character in this book that I really enjoyed. She’s a vampire by the name of Pavia. I have high hopes that we will cross paths with her again and I’m forever hopeful that she will be more like Tristan than the other vampires in this series.Scorch is the next book in the series which is already out.

Let me warn you- I’m about to say a bad word…… Holy bat shit on a cracker!!!! OMG!!!! I don’t actually know how to write this review without literally spoiling every single thing. Ok gimme a sec… WOW!! I never expected to be so engrossed in a series but as I read them back to back I’m head over heels.Kira is my new hero. I can’t say she always makes the right decisions but she makes the choices. To explain that sentence, when she leaves Luke at the airport to go chase bad guys, it was the right choice but a bad decision because she went about it wrong. She needed to go but she maybe could have handled it better LOL and yet I completely love her. She is scary and yet completely non-treatening, well unless you’re the bad guy. I feel slightly devastated and heart broken for her, but somehow she’ll survive and pick up the pieces. She has matured and yet her powers are still changing. At first, I was completely devastated with Luke. And then I was even more devastated for Tristan… Look, it’s complicated, it’s crazy good and I will not tell you anymore than this for fear of ruining the greatness of you reading it for yourself!I’ve never loved to hate the bad guys’ll much. Way to go- seriously that’s just creepy!! And way to give me a complete heart attack followed by complete awe filled awesomeness! Your ending has left me in complete shock and now I HAVE to know!! There is nothing more than finding out the ending! I have no more coherent words because it was that jaw dropping! Ooooh just go get your copy and immerse yourself!! 5 INCREDIBLY UNBELIEVABLE PAWS!!!

I love Midnight Fire Series. Its one of the BEST series I am currently reading or have EVER read! But Blaze is NOT my favorite book in this series. It was up untill Kira lied to Tristain about wanting to become a vampire and then Tristain broke up with her. I was so skocked! And then she goes and kisses LUKE! BLAH! I was so angry. And to top it all off. She BURNS Tristan alive! AHHH! So hurtful! Tristan got the short end of the stick in this ending. 1.He broke up with Kira. 2.Kira turns and open up all her true feelings to Luke, now her new temporay boyfreind. 3. Kira, his one true love, scorchs him to bone and singed flesh. 4. Kira turns him human. 5. He doesnt even know who she is. Talk about MESSED UP! I love Tristan as much as i love "Edward". And in the book "Newmoon", if Bella would have turned her back and did all this horriable stuff to him, after the lie she told? Whether its intentional or not, its just all messed up and wrong! I would have been done with the entire series. In my personal opinion, Kaitlyn Davis did a poor job on the ending. Note to author: Give us what we want! Not what we would never even dream or expect to happen. I hope the next one has a proper ending.

SPOILERS******************************************************************************************** I am still reeling from all that happened in that book...I knew all along that there was no way that Kira's mother would be alive, with all the broken details of the conduits/vampire history it was pretty easy to figure out what Aldrich was kind of planning to do with her. That being said though, the author went thru great pains to make this story worth reading and I have to say that I was not disappointed. KD needs to do some editing here and there but I think that is true with a lot of books to tell you the truth, sometimes things just slip through. I love that Tristan is now human because he needed to be, he hated what he was, however I am thinking that Kira and Tristan are still not going to be able to be together. I honestly think that Luke is her other half. I don't think that she will be happy turning away from the conduit community now as an 'Angel' (or original uhhh whatever) any more than she was willing to when she thought that she was simply a mix breed. Well, on to the last book!

Kira and Tristen head to England to rescue Kira's mother from the evil vamp Aldrich. Once there, they discover that not only is she there but that she's married to Aldrich. Aldrich explains that he has figured out a way for a conduit to be turned into a vampire. Meaning Kira & Tristen can be together forever. Kira wonders though, can this woman really be my mother. If so can she really give up being a conduit. The reader wonders can Tristen stay the loving vamp we all love or will his judgement be clouded by the possibility of forever. Where does all this leave Luke? Kira's best friend. This book takes Kira on an emotional rollercoaster and leaves the reader trying to guess what curves are awaiting them. This book is more emotion and less action than the previous three but in my book still a 5 star read. Have I mentioned the ending? It's one you will never see coming!! Congrats Kaitlyn Davis!!!! I can't wait for the next one.

I am addicted to this series! Blaze is the 3rd installment of the series. Kira a new hybrid conduit that is half Protector and half Punisher is lured to the home of Aldrich who is also the creator of Tristan. He leads her there with the promise of finding her mother who may or may not be dead. Kira uncovers alot of secrets within the castle walls but all of her secrets have come at a price. This book is so exciting. There were times I had to remind myself to breath and times I actually cried. Kira is such a strong character yet she has vulnerability that provides an excellent balance. This story is so well written I couldn't put it down. I love the way the triangle between Kira, Tristan and Luke has taken an unexpected turn. I don't want to give it away. The characters are great, the story is great and very entertaining. I will be sad to complete the series. I fell in love with the characters.

Knowing what she has to do, Kira makes a choice that ends up betraying one and following another. Wanting to find the answers about who she is and what really happened to her mother. Kira finds that everything she was hoping for may not be possible and that treachery is running rampant and in order to survive she may end up hurting those that mean the most to her.Exciting series. Kira is a bit unpredictable and often makes choices on impulse sometimes getting unexpected results. Tristan is the broody vampire who looks at Kira with hopes of a future, even though she will age and he will not. Luke the trusty friend who secretly believes Kira is the one for him, he is a true gentleman though as he waits on the sidelines hoping to get a chance to win Kira over. This has been an excellent series thus far, I found myself frequently unable to put the stories down as Kira begins to discover more about herself and what she is. Cannot wait until the final installment.

Kira, Tristian and Luke’s journey continues as they search for the truth about Kira’s mom. The only problem is that one of the boys will be left out of the search and that creates problems as feelings start to show. Once Kira finds out the truth of what happens to her mom she realizes that it costs her more than she ever thought. She is unlike anyone else in more ways than one and she soon learns she is special in more ways than one. Luke is there to help her in every way possible and Tristian is willing to give his life for her but no one would expect the end result to be Tristian forgetting. Kira realizes that she lost a lot more than she has gain in her journey to finding the truth. The only question now is where do they go from here? “Blaze” is just as amazing and the first two books in the series. This one is also full of surprises, twists and turns. This book was very entertaining and I read it in one day. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

Best of the series so far! The characters didn't disappoint. As far as anyone knew, Kira was planning on returning to Sonneyville with Luke to continue her conduit training. However, Kira has other plans. She is going off to England in search of the vampire who has her mother...and she's taking Tristan with her. Will her betrayal to Luke ever be forgiven or will her choice be what leads her into the devil's trap? To Kira something seems off with the perfect facade in front of her and the possibility of a family reunion. To Tristan, the bait seems like a dream come true and his ideal way for happily ever after with Kira. To find out what Kira truly wants, she feels determined to find out who she really is first...but what if it forces her to lose everyone she truly loves in the process?Great read!

Wow.. This book is a far cry from the days of ignite.A lot went on in this book and Kira was a very busy girl. There was great suspense and I was glad to see a continuation of the witty humour we got in "simmer". I feel like Luke really turned the table on his appeal in this one. Even though you may have been on team Tristan since ignite this book may have had you side glancing at Luke more often. Kira has managed to really come out of her shell as well and do us proud with an ass kicking female lead the likes of which we haven't seen in a while. I'm interested to see where Kira's conduit powers take her next since we were hit with quite the whammy when she reverted Tristan back in time. This book has definitely done a good job setting us up for the next one and building a foundation for more books to follow!

This book was much better than the last two! I'm now very excited about the last one!So... while I usually don't care for love triangles (even though they always seem to be there) and I typically always root for the first guy (the one the girl starts out with rather than the one who's trying to win her over)... I've got to say that I'm not mad at this ending!! I genuinely love both Tristan and Luke and am excited at the possiblities that lie ahead! Another thing I like is that while Kira did have some of that "Do I want him, do I not want him" annoyingness going on for a little.... it was not as bad as I have seen in other books. She wasn't a total little girl in her thoughts/actions and I liked that. Another plus for this book!Getting started on Scorch now!! =)

Absolutely awesome! This is definitely on my list of favorites. Amazing plot, amazing characters. Beautiful twists. This series totally kicks Twilight' s butts. I definitely recommend it.SPOILERS:My complaints would be the whole Tristen and Luke thing. I could not believe her lies, then to start going after Luke...even now every time they're together I want to scream at the book "What about Tristen!!!" . He is and always will be the best. And I'm heart broken for what happened to him. Basically the Tristen we knew died, leaving a complete stranger in his place. Still loved the book though.

“Kira gulped, unable to stop the growing sense that everything in her world was about to change.” With Aldrich’s note burning a hole in her pocket, Kira is off to England to finally reunite with her birth mother. But what begins as a dream quickly turns to a nightmare and Kira is left questioning everything she has ever known. Can she be the conduit Luke wants her to be? Can she be the rebel Tristan needs her to be? Or is she something else? Something no one, not even Aldrich, ever saw coming…

This book was amazing! I know it's probably hard to keep a series going along with the chemistry between characters and the plot and subplot and Ms. Davis absolutely nailed it. The ending to this one almost made ME cry, and that's saying something considering I didn't even cry at the birth of my kids (I got really close though). I think I can officially say that Ms.Davis is a master storyteller/writer.. The only difference is that the world hasn't figured it out yet thankfully.. but I have... :)
