THE TYCOON AND THE WEDDING PLANNER by author Kandy Shepherd is a Harlequin Romance release for July 2014.Kate Parker has secrets and doesn’t intend to leave Dolphin Bay. Yet Sam Lancaster is a big city guy. Could they make it work? But he is sticking around, would he stay for ever? What would happen when he learns Kate’s secret for he also is running away from his past. Could Kate and Sam make their way to each other? They have sizzling chemistry but could it lead to something more?THE TYCOON AND THE WEDDING PLANNER is a sweet romance shimmering with sensuality just below the surface. It was an emotionally uplifting story. Author Kandy Shepherd’s story-telling makes the characters come alive on the pages and the reader is personally involved in their happiness and craves the resolution as deeply as they do. This is a story about recovering from past guilt and grief and moving forward. The premise was wonderful and story moved along very fast.I loved this story and highly recommend it.

A very long time ago I remember watching a series on television where one wedding led to another wedding and that led to yet another wedding, and I remember thinking I wish someone would incorporate the idea into a romance book, for reading is so much better than watching it play out on television!Author Kandy Shepherd has done it, and I could not have been more thrilled when I got this gem of a read in my very happy hands. The read tells of Kate Parker, she distracts herself from memories by keeping busy, so she organizes weddings for the happy couples of Dolphin Bay. But tall, dark and totally gorgeous tycoon Sam Lancaster 's arrival sends her into such a fit of flutter she forget's where she left the confetti, the man does more of a number on her senses than a knock over the head!Sam however is mysterious and this of course as all us woman know makes the man even more sexy than other's who are open about everything, so it just confuses Kate even more. Him sticking around a little longer than it will take to cut the cake just makes things even worse for poor Kate. The man makes her heart soar one minute and all she wants to do is fall into his arms and the next his overseeing her building project makes her blood boil, well just a little. Neither Kate nor Sam has the time or inclination for distractions, planning weddings is what Kate does best and being distracted will only cause trouble and as for Sam he needs to focus on getting the job done, and Kate and her sweet smile will certainly not help his case, he needs to get the job done and get going ! I loved, loved LOVED this book from start to finish. It had so much wonderful emotion it sent my heart souring into the clouds and I did not want to come back down! I loved the feisty-ness of the heroine, trying to keep it together and refusing to let your life fall apart is never an easy task, yet this heroine made it look and sound easy but at the same time the author let the element of fear and doubt shimmer through to remind me that it is easy to put on a brave face but deep down you are falling to pieces. The character of Sam was so delicious the man made my toes curl , but one minute I wanted to hug him and the next I wanted to strangle him. This however just showed that it is pretty much the same for everyone every time we need to make big decisions. Our emotions are all over the place, we want to do the right thing and be seen as a kind person who everyone wants to hug and congratulate, but we also know that the other option is sometimes the best to do and no matter what we try it will result in someone wanting to strangle us. The read was filled with many wonderful moments of sweetness, the kind that makes you wish you could climb inside the book and stay there in order to live the lives of the characters. Passion, gentleness and understanding shone through in this read so beautifully it brought me to tears, excellent job Kandy! I am taking away a message of life has a way of bringing someone of a problem of some sort into our lives for a reason, you might be thinking " I don't need this now" and that's okay it's a natural reaction. But if the problem of person does not go away it 's a clear cut sign that life is trying to let you know this is something you need to act on. So don't hold back, take the step and try to see the light. I highly recommend this read for all fans of romance. It was sweet, kind, sensual and filled with a stunning set of characters in a beautifully crafted plot that will have you falling in love over and over again. This author has once again shown me that the brighter side of life can be found at the most unexpected of times.5/5 star review " Happiness comes riding into town, but will it stick around for the long run or head out faster then it arrived?"

Stellar romantic storyteller Kandy Shepherd continues her delightful "Dolphin Bay", Australia series with "The Tycoon and the Wedding Planner". We first met the lovely Kate Parker in "The Summer They Never Forgot", and now Kate gets her own chance to find the love of a lifetime. Having recently suffered through a very awkward attempt at turning her friendship with her pal Jesse into a romance, Kate is feeling less than appealing. Working as a Deputy Manager for the Hotel Harbourside and planning the wedding of her boss, Ben, and his lady-love, Sandy, is a welcome double-duty. However, Jesse is Ben's brother, and avoiding him is impossible, especially with the upcoming wedding. Sam Lancaster, a guest at the wedding who is a longtime friend of Ben and Jesse, proves to be an unexpected distraction. Masculine, mannerly, and most attractive, Sam operates a successful family-owned construction company in Sydney. Sam is unprepared for the emotions stirred by the beautiful, red-haired, green-eyed Kate--her warm personality and disarming dimples have him quite smitten. The simpler life in the gorgeous Dolphin Bay setting begins to work its wiles on big-city Sam. While she loves her home area, family responsibilities to her mother and sister, and painful memories from her own past have kept Kate confined to the boundaries of Dolphin Bay. Will her interest in Sam lead to a new outlook on life? When approval comes for Sam's company to build the new luxury spa resort envisioned by Kate and Ben, will he be able to adhere to his own strict standards not to become involved with a client? Can Kate and Sam overcome their own personal issues and reach for the lasting love to be found in each other's arms? Kandy Shepherd has such a way with romance--her story lines are always involving, and the characters have great appeal. Recommended reading for lovers of charming, heart-felt contemporary fiction. THE TYCOON AND THE WEDDING PLANNER is another heart-warming and sweet romance by author Kandy Shepherd. Kandy knows how to write swoon worthy stories, with depth and definition. Characters that you can relate to and stories that leave you starry eyed and sheepishly happy. I am a lover of a contemporary romance and Kandy is certainly a Harlequin Writer queen when it comes to these. I can always expect a love story that will leave me content but also heavy and light hearted throughout the read. The storyline was written at a wonderful pace, giving the reader depth into the story and the characters thoughts and feelings. The scenery is always well envisaged with gorgeous details – including Dolphin Bay a place I’d certainly love to find love in (sigh) As Always The romance is sensual and sweet, and Kandy gives the reader the HEA we eagerly await both for ourselves and the characters. Some may call it predictable but I call it fate ;) Sensual, satisfying, and with a tall dark and handsome spunk what more could any girl want?? ** drools * Kandy has created a story both intriguing and tantalizing. It’s funny, and quirky, romantic, passionate and filled with love, and certainly an adventure of the heart. Loved all the characters... Both Kate and Sam are wonderfully delivered giving the story LIFE AND LOVE AMOUNG THE PAGES.

Love the story of Sam and Kate, of how they meet each other and when Kate finds out that Sam is a friend to Jesse, her old-time crush. And how Kate's insecurities to her own self-confidence after a traumatic experience made her uncomfortable being around Sam alone but her deepest inner heart want to break free and experience the passion and love that she always wanted to have. And also her dedication to take care of her sister and mother stopped her to achieve her own dreams but after finding out that her mother and sister gave her blessing to accept and love Sam was so wonderful to read. And love how the author added the city of Singapore, which so far been rare found in all Harlequin books that I have read, but indeed a total delight, although I would love the author to add the name of the hotel where they finally able to spend time together, alone... I was thinking it could be the famous Sentosa Island hotel that one time my parents send me a postcard when they took a quick weekend break from their busy days in Jakarta, although they are retired already, they still love to take quick getaway here and there, while both of the kids were in Canada, working and have our busy lives.Although, a small minor detail, I would like the writer to elaborate more on how Sam and Kate end up in Kate's place (chapter 12) after the wedding...

This is a fabulous story that will have you riveted from the first page Kate has been back in Dolphin Bay for five years now and not left she is bright and bubbly but holds a secret deep within until she meets Sam who has arrived for the wedding she is planning and it is love at first sight but Sam too has to make a decission that could change a lot of peoples lives. Together on this magical journey to a HEA they open up and trust this one is sensual and very heartwarming I loved it from start to finish and it is one you should not miss. It was great being back in Dolphin Bay and catching up with friends from the last book. Thank you MS Sheppherd for hours of reading pleasure.

4 out of 5 stars for Kandy Shepherd.....Kate Walker organizes weddings at Dolphin Bay. Sam Lancaster is from the big city and is just the right person that can distract her from her everyday life. Things in the past rarely stay there and they struggle to see if they can make their relationship work or will the past pull them apart. Good read. Sweet, sensual, and romantic.

This is the 4th book by Kandy Shepherd that I’ve read, and I’ve loved all four. This one ranks closely with “The Summer They Never Forgot” – which is no real coincidence, as both belong to the same mini-series set in the fictional Australian coastal town of Dolphin Bay.In “The Tycoon and the Wedding Planner”, Shepherd presents an unlikely couple that is made for each other despite the obvious differences. Kate has several incidents in her past that overshadow her life and keep her tied to Dolphin Bay where she hides behind cheerfulness and has built a safe cocoon for herself, whereas Sam is a rich businessman jetting from Sydney all around the world and feeling a bit overwhelmed by the small-town closeness and wedding humdrum. But when the two meet, instant attraction morphs into something much more.I love the way the author has given the two protagonists such depth. With their flaws and secrets yet also their strength, joy, struggles and sensibility, they seem so real you’d think they’re part of your group of friends and not characters in a novel. It’s what I appreciate most about Shepherds books, how she infuses such intensity and authenticity into her characters and fits such a big slice of life and love into the pages. Plus, the chemistry between the two is wonderful and again so very real. I have a huge crush on Sam now because he combines the strength of will and handsome body of an alpha male with a striking sensitivity and genuine kindness that make him the perfect hero. And I love Kate’s spunk and her background, painful as it partly is.Having read “The Summer They Never Forgot” before, I also found it wonderful to meet two familiar characters again. Now I’m hoping and praying that the others mentioned – like Emily and Lizzie – will get their own book too. If you love romance that is sweet and sensual, makes you think and swoon and laugh and bite your nails, then I can highly recommend this story. It will stay with me the way the setting Dolphin Bay has and will.

The first book I've read by Kandy and it definitely won't be the last! A lovable heroine, a scrumptious hero and great conflict for both characters. And while not explicit in any way, there is LOADS of sexual tension - yummy! Read it in a day and it was time extremely well spent!

Gave up around page 100. Paper thin conflict. I was bored.
