I freakin want a tree rocketship!at least i think its a tree rocketshipOh and I really love Izabel. My daughter would freak out when I hire a floating ghost girl with her insides spilling out of her torso as a nanny. Haha

“Once upon a time, each of us was somebody's kid.Everyone had a father, even if he never provided anything more than his seed.Everyone had a mother, even if she had to leave us on a stranger's doorstep. No matter how we're eventually raised, all of our stories begin the exact same way. They all end the same, too.”

Thought provokingly good! From the very start of this series, it has already set a pace that was so thrilling and violent at the same time (which is good) that causes me to follow until now. And this chapter doesn't fail to do so!We were being told that the killing in this chapter would make a mess. So, I can't wait to see what comes next. Then we are brought back to both Marko and Alana trying to escape and Izabel just shown us something SO Amazing which made me go...I can't even utter a single word at the very last page when 2 new characters appeared majestically! Give me Chapter 7 like right now!!!Ratings: 5 out of 5 starsMy Blogspot Review

Check out my blog Reads By Amanda for more book reviews! As I continue my exploration and growing love for the comic book/graphic novel genre, I picked up a graphic novel that's been on my tbr pile for a while, Saga, Volume 1 by Brian K. Vaughan and illustrated by Fiona Staples.Saga was absolutely amazing. I discovered Brian K. Vaughan through the Runaways series, which is one of my favorite comics and Saga doesn't disappoint. The illustration and just imagination and creativity of the story and the universe that was created is magical and you gotta love when you can just feel the writer and artist having fun and truly enjoy bringing a story to life.Alana and Marko are two star-crossed lovers trying to survive during a war where everyone from all sides of the galaxy wants them killed with their daughter, Hazel, who occasionally narrates the story. It's a loose narration since there's other storylines going on outside of Alana and Marko but Hazel provides past tense snippets and thoughts to the story. The illustration is absolutely beautiful. There's so much detail with the characters and the landscape shots as well which is something that tends to get lost in comics with blank faces and blurry lines and Staples has this ethereal, almost glossy aspect to her work which is breathtaking to look like.Go check this out! It's a lot of fun and just solid art and storytelling. What more do you want?Have you read Saga? What are your thoughts?Check out my review for the other installments in the series here.*Disclosure: the review above contains affiliate links. Find out more here. Thanks for reading!

I'm glad this comic found it's success early or this issue may have ended differently. This one seemed slightly slower which I actually enjoyed. Fast-paced can be good but I also want some meat to the story and if it's all rushed it's hard to find any. I hope this continues in the next issues.

Truly wonderful... I love this series. I really like the new characters added in this volume, but Ginny came back and I'm a bit bitter about that. She seemed to be kind of useful for plot purposes and felt like more of a person than last time so I will let it slide I think. Really like the pacing, ending on a cliff hanger again though; just leaving me wanting more. Overall, I think this volume is not as strong as others but it is super solid and I enjoyed it a lot-- just the right ratio of action : drama for me.

Final Review for "Saga Volume Six" by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples (3 Stars)The problem with these graphic novels is you can't read just one. I started the "Saga" series as a requirement to read a graphic novel for a readathon. Now I've finished Volume 6 and am waiting for Volume 7. Who knew? These books star husband, Marko, from the planet Wreath whose people have horns and do magic. Also starring is wife, Alana, from the planet Landfall where folks have wings and can fly. It's a Romeo and Juliet issue as Marko and Alana's people are long-warring extraterrestrial races who no one wants to see together. They fell in love in Volume 1 and had a baby girl, Hazel, who has BOTH wings and horns. Action-packed and witty drama ensues. Volume 6 is more (inter)stellar graphic art, graphic sex, graphic violence and more of the addictive story. I expect to read and collect these "Saga" volumes forever. And ever.PS: If you are a graphic novel or science fiction lover, these books would easily earn ***** 5 Stars. And the artwork would be amazing for anyone to peruse. I rate them 3 Stars only because that fits my personal 'rating legend' and I think they appeal to certain readers -- but look at me!!! .....I'm NOT a graphic novel reader and I am hooked on this series, so feel free to check it out.*** 5 Stars = An enduring classic to be read by all; 4 Stars = I LOVE IT! You gotta read it!; 3 Stars = A great book for a specific interest/type of reader/very casual read; 1 or 2 Stars = no comment***

First off... this cover! Fiona Staples is one of my favorite artists and she is by far the best when it comes to Saga!!! I could have every one of these pages hanging on my walls. The full two page spread of the Treehouse Ship was AWESOME. I'm really jealous of Hazel and this world for having such cool space ships! Oh crap.... I don't think Princess Robot IV fully understands who he just pissed off. I know we have only met The Will in the last 6 issues and only briefly know what he is capable of, but he just killed a dude by smashing his head in with his bare hands!!! I think Robot IV has a lot to worry about and he doesn't even have a clue....and the look Lying Cat gives him is so sad. And now the grandparents are here..... they look scary as hell.... this should be getting interesting now....
