Trish Grant is not a romantic. Romance like that just isn’t for her. It belongs on the page.Max Greene noticed Trish at his cousin’s funeral, of all places. She was hard to miss with her citrus-colored hair, violet contacts and fiery attitude. Trish is just as captivated by Max. He makes her laugh, which is rare, and it doesn’t hurt that he rocks blue hair and isn't put off by her resting bitch face.On the outside, their relationship seems sweet and perfect, but that's a lie. To say that Trish's childhood was rocky is an understatement. She's a mess of scars and hangups and is convinced that there's no way Max is going to stick around. He's determined to prove to Trish that she's a girl worth loving, flaws and all. Will she let Max in? Or will she give up her potential fairytale to protect her already-scarred heart from further damage?...

**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**We find out how strong Trish really is in the book and how her past has shaped her life so far. A past that she would rather have left in the past, but it has come to haunt her.Max is a very understanding boyfriend and has taken things VERY slowly with Trish in order not to spook her. He is willing to do what it takes to get Trish as his, and is there for her in every way. Both end up helping the other be a stronger person and to face issues of their past and Trish being Trish faces her past strongly after a little wobble and an intervention by her friends. Its a lovely story and you do wonder at the end if Simon and Brady are going to get a book too as there are a few scenarios that you can just imagine being put in the book as the rest of the characters evolve.

I wanted to LOVE this book. I love how unique and different Trish and Max are. However, it comes across as a bit like a hipster joke. You know, I was _______ before it was cool. Trish's backstory is super sad and you feel for her. But, I also struggled with how she never let anyone in. How she expected to have a relationship with Max when she wouldn't tell him a single thing? And to be honest, she was kind of a bitch frequently. So, why 3 stars? 1. I love the supporting characters that you have gotten to know in the previous books. 2. Trish was a very broken character that you felt for3. Max is the most amazing person in the world. What I didn't really like1. Geez the angst is a bit much (and I don't typically mind angst!)2. Trish's treatment of Max was difficult to read. She was so closed off and it really felt like she was stringing him along because she wouldn't tell him WHY she was the way she was. 3. Did I mention the angst? It bears mentioning again. I love Chelsea's writing. If you are looking for a super angsty YA/NA read that isn't all about sex, you will like this book. Perhaps my rating would be different if I was more in the mood for an angsty read?? This might be one I revisit later with that thought in mind. Rating: 3.5 StarsHeat: 1.5

I really wanted to like Trish in this book, but was unable to really do so. She was hard on herself and everyone else. Although she had a traumatic childhood and suffered a lot, she wanted to hold all of her secrets inside but demand honesty and forthrightness from everyone else. She kept some huge secrets from Max and unveiled them very slowly. Max was great in being a boyfriend who took her as she was and didn't push her for anything she wasn't ready to give. I was sad that she portrayed their relationship to be more than it was, especially since she put Max in a bad position. It was nice to see her growth in coming to grips with her childhood and acknowledging all of the important things she was keeping to herself. Max did a great job of not letting his parents force him to become something he didn't want. I did not like that she kept pushing Max but was glad he called her out on it. I also didn't like how she pushed him to get tattoos and piercings, even though she seemed to like him the way he was. If she wanted to be accepted for who she was, she should have the same courtesy for him. Very nice story and a good continuation of this series.

Having read the Fall & Rise series from the beginning I have a vested interest into the lives of all characters in this series. These books – all four of them – swallow me up whole and spit me out a different person. I adore Chelsea’s style of writing. The words flow effortlessly and before I know it, I’m finished. Chelsea – in all books of hers I’ve read – touches upon delicate issues and does so with finesse and the utmost sensitivity. She showcases that people of all ages have secrets, demons and pasts to contend with and can overcome and deal or accept these with the love and support of friends and family. Some may find the back and forth actions of Trish irritating but it is certainly reflective of someone who is unsure of themselves and with little self esteem to act/behave. Max is an endearing character. The quiet, calm kind of person we all hope to draw strength from. He is supportive and there for Trish from the get go.A fully deserving 5 out of 5 rating from me and a series I deeply love and cherish.

Okay so I loved this book! Together We Heal had so much of my emotions running rampart. This is not like a normal love story where the main characters starts dating in the book. The main characters in this book was already dating. This is the fourth book in this series and I tell you I did struggle to understand this book in the beginning. Not because it started of bad but because I haven’t read this first three books in the series so I did not know who the other characters were. This book can be read as a standalone because it is not any follow up story of any of the other characters. This book had so much emotion, it was raw and gritty. Trish and Max’s relationship was a full on struggle most of the time but the name of the book was totally true about Trish and Max’s story….. Now I’m giving this book a fabulous 4 heart rating because I loved this book, it was not a light read but a little darker where a woman that had a past so dark that she thinks she is broken and she would never heal. Max never thought that when he looked at Trish. Now is the time you should ask me what Together We Heal is all about. Trust me you should ask…. Don’t worry I’m going to tell you anyway. :PThis book is about a troubled girl named Trish who had a hard past. She does not trust easily and the only person she fully trusts is her brother who raised her but now her brother is in love and she met this amazing guy named Max. They met at the funeral of one of Trish’s friend and after that they started dating because Max was different with the blue hair and all. Max and Trish were now a couple, nevertheless, Trish still didn’t trust him fully. When they stayed together the night, they always had to sleep in different beds not because she wasn’t attracted to him but because she was scared to be touched. She has so many secrets that she hid that Trish is scared that Max might walk when he knows about her past. The problem is that Trish does not see that Max loves her and that he would never ever walk form her…. He will wait for her until she is ready. She started to fear that he might leave her, so the fear of being touched went on the back burner so they slowly started getting closer together. He made her feel better and he took his time with her making sure she trusts him. Then one day her past came to the forefront and her friends started to worry…. Trish new she needed to talk to somehow so she went to therapy and she found out she needs to talk to Max more about her past. So that is how she started telling him everything together they became closer and together they healed each other. She helped him in a way as well and I loved how they worked so hard to get their relationship working.I loved this book and I would soon go and read the rest of the books in this series. This book had a HEA and that is exactly what I love about this type of book. You should go get your hands on this book because trust me you will love this book!MORE REVIEWS ON MY BLOG:

'Together We Heal' is a New Adult contemporary romance that focuses on our two main characters - Max and Trish - and their blossoming relationship. The author wrote the book in alternating first person point of views - those of both Trish and Max. I'm a firm believer that first person POV allows the reader to have a much deeper connection with the narrator, and it worked perfectly for this book. Trish is a great female lead. She's incredibly realistic - we learn about her past and the horrible events that have happened to her throughout her life. She's built up a huge wall to protect herself from getting close to anyone and from ever getting hurt. It all changes when she meets Max though, and Trish finds herself feeling emotions she never thought she could as well as having to face what happened to her in the past if she ever wants to heal and be able to move on. She's strong and fierce - especially on the outside - but once you get to know the real her, she's a sensitive person who deeply loves those she's let into her life. I hated learning about Trish's past, but I loved watching her realize that she needed to change if she ever wanted to move on with her life - especially in her relationship with Max. She's very stubborn and so afraid of almost everything having to do with any kind of personal relationship, but she begins to open up and let herself grow and change throughout the book - which I loved watching.Max is a fantastic leading guy for the book. He's smart, works hard, is determined to get and do what he wants, and is so incredibly supportive of Trish during the entire novel. In essence, he's the perfect guy (in my opinion at least). He's not afraid of his growing feelings for Trish and refuses to let her push him away - he's in it for the long haul. I loved absolutely everything about him. I don't ever do book boyfriends, but if I did - Max would be at the top of my list. I adored watching his feelings for Trish grow along with their relationship - it was so sweet and totally swoonworthy. The plot is one that touches on very difficult topics such as drug use, sexual abuse, incest, and much more. But it's also one of hope, love, and the power that these two things can have in a person's life if they allow them to. The story focuses on positive topics as well - friendship, love, trust, the power within each of us. It might have an ugly backstory, but the part of the story that actually takes place during the book is wonderfully uplifting and beautiful. There were a few times that I found Trish's character to be a bit annoying though. It felt like she was just whining and complaining about all of the same things over and over again - all the time. That became a bit irritating, but didn't last throughout the whole book and didn't really effect my overall experience with the novel. As I mentioned, there are difficult topics in the book that might cause some readers to not even try it, and it may contain triggers for some people. I suggest that you know what the book is fully about if any of these concern you and decide from there if you should read it or not. I highly recommend this book to fans of the genre as well as to readers who enjoy uplifting and hopeful romance stories.Disclosure: I received a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

The Fall and Rise series was one I stumbled upon in the very beginning and I always get excited when Chelsea decides to add more to the series! TOGETHER WE HEAL is another great addition to this series and I loved reading about Trish and Max! My one regret is that I didn’t do a series read through before I started the newest release. I feel like I have read these books over such a span of time that I forgot details. Each book is about different characters, but in this series, Chelsea does a fantastic job of creating a community. These characters would not be as brilliant as they are without each other. The give and take of romantic relationships and friendships are important to this series, especially this book. Trish and Max are enveloped in a family of choice, one of the truest and most solid communities anyone will even know.I loved how Trish and Max’s relationship progressed. Trish has lived through hell and those realities have tainted relationships for her. The only one that has withstood the test of time is the relationship with Stryker, her bother. Slowly she has allowed others to break down her walls but only so far. Max has the power to break those walls, giving him the power to help her heal or destroy her world. Trish is a tough woman but there are so many areas of pain and insecurities that she has to overcome to find peace and move on. Her pain and reactions are valid. Watching her heal is heartbreaking but so wonderful in the end. Max is fantastic. He is kind, gentle, loving, and knows when to push and when to let it go. He is the absolute perfect companion to Trish. So often you see couples who complement each other. Trish and Max are a couple that are truly half of a whole. No matter the chaos and confusion swirling around them, there is an anchor in the chaos- one another. Watching them fall in love and fight the world together was beautiful. Trish’ issues are not trifle but Max is able to walk with her in the good and the bad, never letting her go.I know this is a love story, and it is a beautiful one at that, but I feel like it is so much more. This is truly a New Adult story. There are two characters who are learning to embrace their new life and establish their identity. They create an identity together but so much of this story is about who they are as individuals and the steps they take to shed who they were and embrace who they are at the deepest levels of their person. Loving each other spurned them to break from the past and find a present and future to fight for. It was well written, full of life and hope. The icing on the cake in this book was the community and family in this story. I love the characters from this series as a whole and they are woven in everywhere in this book. Trish would not be who she is without them. They accept Max into the fold completely no questions asked. This story would not have been as well written and meaningful without the gang. I loved watching Zan and Lottie flirt, Simon and Brady’s antics, Stryker and Katie’s love, and Will and Audrey’s support. This story would be lacking without them and I appreciate that. Community is so powerful in the real world and to see it portrayed so well in a book makes the story vibrant with life and truth.

3.5/5Please bear in mind this is the 4th book in the series and it may be impossible to review without spoilers to the previous books.I love this series so much, although I have to say Zan is still my favourite ♥ Trish has been an integral part of the series from the very first book, with her funky appearance and quirky characteristics you cannot help but want to dig below the surface to uncover all of her secrets. Of which there are a number of deep, dark events alluded to within the narrative - heart breaking in their revelations. She is very guarded and emotionally withdrawn. Although her upbringing is hinted at for the majority of the story the reader is left with their very vivid imagination. The story unfolds with a very fast paced dual narrative. I adore Max in all his blue haired geekiness. While his personal situation isn't as disturbing as Trish's he isn't without his own problems. The support and acceptance Max and Trish give each other is wonderful to observe and fuels the desire that all relationships should contain the same level of give and take. Adorable geekiness abounds within the narrative not just from Max and Trish but from the inclusion of all the wonderful, idiosyncratic characters Chelsea creates so well. Again Zan is still my favourite ;) Chelsea captures the theme of identity brilliantly; making your own way in he world, overcoming the traumas you may have encountered along the way and creating your own family from the people that fit your life the best. The use of therapy and self-reflection played an important part within the plot and ingeniously showed just how powerful these tools are. Although I am truly awful at writing anything to so with self-reflection, I tend to be very introspective but highly critical of myself which does not bode well for documentation :) Although I like to think I am self-aware. I also liked the inclusion of negativity breeding negativity, thinking positive is a lifestyle choice :) The ongoing development of the other characters from the previous books played a huge part in Together We Heal and I have to say some events took me a little by surprise. Yet added to the overall feeling of family and contentment within the story. I love the way in which they all come together, the Friends reference within the narrative certainly fits these guys. I cannot wait to see what he future holds for all of them - I would love a book of short stories for each of the couples set 10 years in the future ♥

Together We Heal by Chelsea M. Cameron is the fourth book in the New Adult, Rise and Fall Series. I am a huge fan of this series and have read every book the moment they were released.Reader's first met Trish Grant in the first book as a secondary character. Her character has been a strong supporting character throughout the series. She's the girl that marches to her own beat and is extremely loyal to her family and friends. At the same time she is a bit snarky, sarcastic, and a realist. It's obvious she has her own hidden secrets and inner turmoil. Readers have been anxiously awaiting to read her story.Together We Heal is quite different from the other books in the series. This book starts with Trish already in a relationship with Max Greene. They met at a funeral and clicked. They began seeing each other on a regular basis. Their relationship is at a stand still. Although they are affectionate with one another in public it's quite a different story behind closed doors. Trish is very reserved about letting the relationship progress into a more intimate relationship. She is dealing with demons from the past and fear of abandonment. She desperately wants to get past her issues because she really likes Max.Max is a one of a kind guy. He sees beyond the outer layer Trish presents to people. He really likes her on all levels. He's patient enough to stick by her side and help her with her issues. Once she opens up to him, he falls even more in love with her. She also understands that he has issues of his own. Seperately they are both a mess, together they are a beautiful portrait of a loving committed relationship. The one thing that Trish and Max have going for them is their support system. The whole gang from the Rise and Fall series will always have their backs.Once again Chelsea M. Cameron wrote a compelling emotional story that will touch your heart.

Wow, wow, wow. This book totally took me by surprise. You know, as happens so often, I was very sure that I would never read the book about Trish. Why? Cause I really didn’t like her.So, then I thought… Ah, come on, you gotta give it a try! And so I read some of the reviews here on goodreads. And it was just what I was expecting: not very good, Trish was described as a not very likeable person. But, yeah, I kinda couldn’t believe this all and after the book about Stryker and Katie, I just had to find out more about his sister. So I read the fourth instalment. And I LOVED it.Trish is absolutely amazing!! I can’t understand why people judge her for the way she treats Max cause she obviously likes him very much and really doesn’t want to hurt him! She never really pushes him away, she just isn’t so open about her feelings. And who could blame her? I certainly cannot. I was so glad that she never gives up, very glad that she has this amazing support system. I was really glad that I found out more about her friends. Be prepared for some twists and turns!Oh and be prepared for an awesome boyfriend :DMax is just everything your dreams should be about. He is caring, understanding, loves her to death and the way he is with his parents? God, I love it. His parents are pathetic, they are not as judgmental as Katie’s were but they just don’ take him for who he is. They want to change him, aren’t happy for his own choices, for his path and that is just so frustrating for him. I’m very glad that he doesn’t just put up with them but finds his own way and tries to make it on his own. I’m so proud of him.I’m so glad I read this book. The writing style is very good, but again, there were some pretty annoying mistakes (esp. missing nouns or verbs)And yeah, now I totally wanna know if there’s gonna be a book about Simon!!!Just some remarks about instalment 2: I forgot to mention it then but I was really disappointed that Stryker was so careless regarding condoms and stuff, I mean, come on, that was frustrating.

I'm not going to lie, YA is generally not my thing but there was something about Together We Heal that kept me turning the pages. I want to say that it was Trish and Max but really the whole gang of characters was pretty entertaining and easy to relate to. I will also admit that keeping track of everyone was confusing at first- but to be fair, this is the first book in the series that I have read. I do feel that if I had read the other titles it would've been easier to keep everyone sorted from the get go. Everyone involved plays some role in the story but this is a standalone focused on Max and Trish. I was drawn to Trish. She was bold and unafraid to be herself yet she was guarded and vulnerable too. She is quirky with her tattoo's, hair and piercings. She is struggling with letting go of her past and moving towards the future. I liked that she had such a strong support system, especially Max. Oh that Max- he is a great character. I liked his patience and understanding. He was gentle and handled Trish's situation with the delicacy it warranted but he also knew when to push. While there is some heavy matter covered (nothing that could really be a trigger- as there aren't graphic details) there was an overall lightness to the story. And surrounding all of the coming into their own is a mass of great friendships and family. I was impressed with Chelsea M. Cameron's writing. I was thrown back in time to when I was a college freshman and trying to figure out what in the world I wanted to do. I found myself smiling along with Trish and Max as their relationship continued to progress. It was baby steps for them and it was actually really sweet. And while their story is far from over that ending was perfectly suited for them and where they were in their lives; moving forward, together.

First of all I just have to say that this is the first book that I read from this series. When I read the blurb to get the opportunity to read this book I didn't read it was the four book in the series. Even though I enjoy the book and the story was good to read as a standalone, every book has a different story, different couples problems but they are interconnected characters. I truly believe you need to read the three book before so you don't get spoiler of the previous couples life decisions. The book is well written and give us an insight of two very different character. Both Max and Trish are not the typical hero and heroine. They both are rebel in a way and have a normal life. They are not romantic and have a different way to see life. The most important reason that I liked about this book is that the problems that the main characters had are the ones every common person on this planet may have (especially Max).Max is such a good person, caring boyfriend and he is not a typical jock or playboy. He has this rebel style which includes blue hair but he is a sweetheart. On the other hand I didn't like Trish at all, her character just didn't got me. She was a total bitch most of the time and most of the story was about how she push Max away. There are some parts in the story that she seems nice when she helped her friends and then when her secret was out I felt some compassion for her but nothing that lasted long. I liked the other characters and I look forward to read the previous book. I recommend you to read the three previous book because you can get spoiler of their future lives in Together we Heal.

Check out more of my reviews on my blog http://gemmareadstoomuch.co.ukTogether We Heal is book #4 in the Rise & Fall series, I was lucky enough to be gifted an ARC of this book to read for Gemma Reads Too Much. This is the second book I’ve read by this author; I was expecting more of a traditional NA story. But that wasn’t really what I got. This is still set in the NA age group but it is definitely not your typical college romance.I loved the fact that Max and Trish was already a couple when this book starts. It totally removed all the fluffy romance and that was perfect for this story. Both Max and Trish are interesting characters they are both real contradictions in terms and I found their odd relationship incredibly compelling. This book was surprisingly deep and insightful and I really enjoyed the journey both characters took. This book was incredibly well written and both characters had a distinct ‘voice’ I really enjoyed how their characters self reflected on their issues and really grew and moved forward. This book is definitely a romance but it’s more of a creep than a sprint, at times Trish’s issues were all consuming and I really felt for Max. But talking about Max, well I’m not sure they make too many guys like that!!! Hus patience and enduring love for Trish was beautiful.I enjoyed this book, it had moments where it felt a little self helpy but overall I just found it incredibly sweet.By the time it finished I was just really glad that Max and Trish got a resolution and a tentatively happily ever after.Together We Heal gets 4 stars from me.

**I received this book for free from in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.**There were times when Trish got on my nerves a little bit in this book. She is really strong which I loved but girl is a little too hard on herself however I got the feeling that hardness when added with her past is what made her so strong. Her and Max are already in a relationship when the book starts which is a bit different but not in a bad way. I really love that we get alternating first person point of views (Trish and Max) because I feel that really helps me connect with the story even more. Breaking down Trish's walls that she has built around herself isn't easy at all.Max was wonderful and I must say that any other guy would have walked away. He is smart, he works hard, and so supportive of Trish that he is the perfect book boyfriend! He really is and there were a couple of times where I was like "Is this guy for real?" Max is the type of guy that you want by your side to help you through the tough times. This book was difficult to read in that it deals with some subjects that may not be suitable for some. There is drug use, abuse, incest, etc that may be a trigger for some. However as horrible as those things are it is the hope and love that makes this story worth reading! This review was originally posted on Blushing Reads

Together We Heal is the 4th book in the Rise and Fall Series and is the story of Trish Grant and Max Jackson.Although this book is part of a series it can be read as a standalone but I would advise reading the other books in the series to know the relationships between all the characters. This book starts differently from other books that I have read, given that Trish and Max are already a couple. Although they are already together Trish and Max's relationship is at a kind of standstill. They are affectionate in public with each other but things are a little different behind closed doors. Trish has a few demons in her past and is afraid to have a physical relationship with Max. Underneath her hard exterior she is just wanting to be loved by Max but is scared to open up to him about her past and her feelings towards him.Max is having his own issues to deal with also but in my opinion is fantastic when it comes to how he treats Trish and can see past her hard exterior and is so patient with her while he waits for her to open up to him about her past.It did take me a while to get into the story, but once I did the story had me gripped until the end. I won't give too much more away but I will say that the title of this book is fitting in that Trish and Max heal themselves together.Chelsea M Cameron has written yet another great story that's is emotional and is sure to touch your heart.

3 starsTogether We Heal is book 4 in the Rise and Fall series. Although you can read it as a stand alone, it will be a better reading experience if you read the whole series to get better understanding as to what is going on, because this one jumps right into the story with no real back story. Since I read the other books a while ago, I had to go back to my past reviews to see what I was forgetting. This is Trish and Max's story. To say that Trish is a little messed up in an understatement. She has had a rough life. Her parents cooked meth in her basement and never really cared for her. She is lucky because her brother was more like her parent. He raised her and now he is having his ever after with his girlfriend (their story continues here which was a nice treat). Trish and Max have this weird relationship. Max is in love with Trish, but Trish is not sure she can handle a normal relationship. She has some things she is keeping secret from Max and doesn't know if when she shares them with him, he will still be there for her. I really loved Max. He has to be a good guy. Trish, I knew it was gonna be a hard sell for me to like her. I have to say... her secret wasn't life shattering. While it was different, I wasn't really feeling it.

Together W Heal is the fourth book in the Rise & Fall series. We get Trish and Max's story. Yay! I love that we are dropped right in the middle of their relationship. That there's an existing relationship and we get to see the development from that moment is refreshing. I loved Max! And I liked Trish enough. Yes, just enough that I'd say Together We Heal was better than a good read. Cameron delivers the angst in a package named Trish. While appreciating a damaged character like Trish, I may have wanted to see her opening up a little bit more, a little bit earlier. Max! He's a favorite. I loved that he didn't give up on Trish and that he was able to really see her. I've enjoyed Cameron's Rise & Fall series and would love to read more.

This book sucks you in. I love how the main characters and secondary characters have their interesting quirks that make them unique. Very tight close knit group of friends. Trish is very intriguing character. She has a very painful past that she struggles to deal with, but in spite of that she is one remarkable character. Too bad she doesn't see it. She doesn't believe in fairtytales, but Max sure makes her want to. Max has issues of his own, but with Trish be his side he may just be able to find the help. I really loved seeing these two characters bring the best out each other and the support that they give one another. Just that alone is worth reading this book.

Max was awesome!!! He is loving, caring, giving, patient and can't be pushed away. He is more patient that any man I have ever read in my fictional world. That's the one thing that makes you fall for him fast. Trust had some issues that shit her off from max, her friend and just everyone around her. She built a wall to keep others out. But max, oh max he tore through her walls even when he has troubles of his own but he wouldn't give up. He brought her back and I loved it all. I loved everything about the book. The characters were awesome and it was sweet, and there were so hot moments. All in all a good read.

** ARC given on behalf of obsessed by books for an honest review * * Trish is a strong girl, but she's suffered alot to get there, plus she has Max. Max is the perfect boyfriend, his there for her, patience with her, he's willing to do what it takes to be with her, to make her happy, to be her rock. which is what she needs when her past keeps wanting to taint her. This was a great story about two people with pasts, that together made the other stronger. Definitely a must read. had great flow and characters.

I finished this book a few days ago but forgot to update my review. This book was just OK for me. The first book in this series was awesome, as well as the second. These last two books didn't cut it for me. Trish especially in the book just annoyed me and she was so worried what everyone else thought about issues that didn't really matter. Both characters were just super annoying.

This was ok...I enjoyed the characters and their struggle for intimacy. This is also the most superficial of the series. I was actually more interested in the baby for Styker and Katie then the two main characters.

Trish and Max and the crew are great!I am a huge fan of this series by Chelsea M Cameron. Each couples story is so riveting and I just adore the dialogue between all the characters. When I saw this book was out it was like hooking back up with long lost friends

I really enjoyed this series. This particular book wasn't as good as the other ones in the series but it was still good.
