So you can spank as hard as you like.Commander Azed Paul and Ensign Suka Demontel are space anthropologists in a future civilisation where kink is illegal. Both have learned to repress their natural sexuality, but Suka's undergraduate work on the ancient practice of BDSM has captured Paul's professional attention, and his less academic interest too. This makes her the perfect crew member to accompany him to the surface of Paladium Three, a dead planet where old-fashioned service and discipline were woven into the fabric of life. There might not be any life forms left there, but what Paul and Suka discover is fascinating evidence of a culture that both realise might have suited them very well...The temptation to experiment, risk-free, with the kinks they have been denied all their adult lives, proves too much for the space explorers and they give their fantasies free rein. But will this be a unique, never-to-be-repeated experience, or will Paul and Suka find a means to fully embrace the Sevarian Way?Reader Advisory: This book contains BDSM'Europa Europa' by KS AugustinThe Company appreciates its genetically modified humans...as long as they don't get any smart ideas.Salvia is a genetically modified human, at home in the oceans of Jupiter's moon, Europa. Seeing Stars Anthology Reviews
Anthology - better than average. There are some writers in this anthology that I'll definitely follow.Bodies of Light by Lisabet Sarai. Christine wakes up to find that a collision in space somehow made all of the pods of her fellow travelers turn off and she's the only one alive. Two beings Zed and Alyn tell her they are there to comfort her through sex of course. The ending left too many questions unanswered. **The Sevarian Way by Justine Elyot. Azed is the commander and Suka is an ensign. She's trying to live by the thought behind rules but not to the letter and the commander doesn't let anything slide. They go to investigate a planet which had a very BDSM culture before being killed off. And even though Suka's rebellious she's always seen herself as a submissive. The commander has always seen himself as a dom, but this type of sexual expression is illegal. They explore some of their desires while down there and then a surprise happens. I'm not a huge fan of BDSM but this was done well. ***1/2Europa Europa by KS Augustin. Salvia was engineered to exist under water (part human/part dolphin). Extreme loneliness forces her to stop her working until she has a companion made/brought to her. Rhus is that companion who had heard how demanding Salvia was and that she was blackmailing the company but not the reason why. Now she and Rhus are forced to work together and maybe see if there's something more. Excellent story. I wouldn't mind seeing a series from this at all. *****Star Struck by Buffi BeCraft. (Okay, that is one of the worst pen names I have heard of. I hope the author picked it for that reason. If that's your real name, I don't know what to say.) Mara is visited by 2 kith - Ash and Korm, who are on the run from an arranged marriage. When entering the ship, Ash automatically recognizes the "One" which someone foretold. Really good story. Wish it would have been longer. *****To Bed a Goddess by Lizzie Lynn Lee. Amaranth is supposed to be a reincarnation of a goddess but it's all a trick that the chief priest started when she was a babe. On her wedding night, she's pierced through the heart with a religious symbol that puts her a deep sleep for 6000 years. Graeme wakes her up. Is he her true love? Cute story. ***Captain Kate by Sophie Angmering. Dom & Ren are captured by Captain Kate Thorn. She has this thing she does to keep the captured silent with the threat of blackmail while also downloading info from ships that she can pick and choose to give to her commander. This way she doesn't have to kill anybody which is how the GEF usual handles captures. She doesn't expect to be incredibly turned on or to be made a part of her little powerplay. Really good story. *****
Very good anthology, esp the story by Sophie Angmering that I had tried earlier on audiobook format.
Excellent anthology, esp Story by Sophie Angmering that I had already listened to on Audiobook.
