Auld Lang Syne Reviews
Like the two other reviewers have said, this book was short and sweet. (Therefore, in some ways, this review will be short and sweet as well.)I liked this. It's nice to see characters defying stereotypes planted in this genre. Jack wasn't a total alpha male - in fact he was quite submissive in bed - despite the general stereotype that seems to appoint ranchers (and the older man in the relationship) to be the dominant one. Blair wasn't a wide-eyed kid despite his considerably young age; he's not a blushing virgin and he's seen his fair share of the dark side of the planet.I also liked how the horses were incorporated into this story. They weren't just animals that Jack and Blair worked with; they were separate beings with names and I really enjoyed reading all about Sirius's antics. What a cute colt. He'll definitely be a handful, but I do know that he's Jack's horse.Through bad introductions and an awkward and fumbling "getting to know you" stage and a (somewhat) expected turn of events, these guys found love. Definitely recommended if you're in need of a quick and fluffy read. I'm looking forward to reading Tia Fielding's new novel that was just released yesterday. This review can also be found here.
really sweet story about taking the risk of a new love.
I thought that this was a sweet story, I enjoyed reading this one!
This was a telling story not a showing one and a very thin one at that. I enjoy books where the side characters have almost the same depth of personality as the main character and they were so card board in this book.I know the author can write a good book, I really enjoyed Something New. I hope that her next book will be better.
Short, sweet and the true meaning of "falling in love".Jackson was willing to live half a life with a man he barely saw, let alone barely knew. When Blair, the younger but more dominant man entered his life, Jack was terrified but willing to take a chance on love. Too many tragic events paved the road for these boys but in the end, they were willing to do what felt right to make it right.
Very sweet short story.
I liked this story quite a bit. Jackson seemed to know what he wanted but somehow had his priorities all wrong. I think Blair was a good fit.
Very sweet story. Bit short, though. Would've loved to have seen a little more about how things professed between Blair and Jack.
